Biography

Yuri Vasilievich Muzychenko was born in 1987 in Gatchina, a suburb of St. Petersburg. As a child, he was not distinguished by an exemplary character, but, despite this, he was fond of music and learned to play the violin. During his school years, Yura founded his first boyish group called "Phobos", which existed for a short time and solely for the sake of fun. After the 9th grade, Yuri entered the music school, but soon left it, citing a boring educational process.

Muzychenko continued his education at the St. Petersburg Academy of Theater Arts, where he studied at the department of clownery. After receiving his diploma in 2009, the aspiring artist got a job at the Litsedei theater, where he acted as a dramatic clown. Also, Yuri continued to get involved in music and in 2011 founded the group "BKMSB", performing in the genre of alternative rock. The band was doing well, and they performed at various festivals, including Snickers Urbania.

In the same period, Muzychenko launched the Internet project "Zabitye", which became a blog about the life of a musical group and tattoos. In 2015, Yuri decided to finally end his theatrical career in favor of the development of a musical one. Together with his stage colleagues, he founded a new group, The Hatters. The name was simply explained: all the participants wear fashionable hats during the performances. The genre has remained the same - alternative rock. The very first songs and clips of the project blew up the Russian-language Internet. The project has released such records as "Stay True", "Forever Young, Forever Drunk", "Full Hat" and others.

Personal life

Yuri Muzychenko is married. He met his future wife Anna during his student years. The artist's wife studied at the acting and directing department. They went through almost all stages of Yuri's career together: they performed at the Litsedei theater, opened the Backstage tattoo parlor, wrote lyrics and music for musical projects. Today Anna performs the backing vocals of The Hatters, and also helps her husband in raising her daughter Lisa, who was born in 2010.

Currently, The Hatters are releasing their songs on a label owned by musician Ilya Prusikin (Ilyich) and his group Little Big. They travel a lot and gather full halls of fans. Their recent achievement was their performance on the Evening Urgant show on the country's main TV channel. Yuri Muzychenko also participates in the filming of videos of popular YouTube bloggers. He can be seen especially often on the KLIKKLAK channel. The clips of The Hatters project itself also remain very popular, and their number of views is estimated at millions.
