If you are faced with the fact that you are threatened with violence, do not panic, instead, you can contact the law enforcement agencies. However, before doing this, it is necessary to determine whether there is a sufficient criminal component here.

Instructions

Step 1

If you are threatened, you can write a statement to the police and instruct law enforcement officers to deal with the problem. However, the main problem is that the police practically do not deal with such appeals, despite the fact that the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation contains Article 119 “Threats of murder or infliction of grievous harm”.

Step 2

For law enforcement to really tackle your problem, the threat must be real. If an unknown person calls you and says that he intends to kill you, the police will most likely not take this situation seriously, but according to the law, they must conduct a check on this fact. It is quite another matter if you are threatened by a person who was previously convicted of murder, or on the street you are faced with an unknown person who began to threaten you with a weapon.

Step 3

The threat can come from others as well. For example, you can find out from your own friends or neighbors that your mutual acquaintance has acquired a pistol and intends to settle scores with you. Such a threat is perceived realistically, so the police will have to conduct a check on this fact. The easiest way to prove to the police that you are being threatened is if you receive a letter of appropriate content. Remember that verbal threats are the hardest to prove.

Step 4

To bring a suspect to justice under the relevant article of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation, you must provide the police with material evidence (threatening notes, etc.). Having witnesses will also play into your hands, and the more the better. If there is a dictaphone record confirming threats, be sure to show it to the investigation. However, it can only serve as a reason for believing you regarding the very fact of the existence of threats, in court it will not be real evidence.
