The Fancy singer is an extravagant personality. Even the fence of his mansion is made in the form of a staff with notes. And the meaning of the stage name can be translated both as the exclamation “imagine!” And as an abbreviated “fantasy”. There are many other meanings. The vocalist performed under the names Ric Tess and simply Tess.
Manfred Alois Zegit has been interested in magic and astrology since the mid-nineties. And after working with the artist, producer David Brandes vowed to ever collaborate with an outrageous performer, being in complete shock from the joint work.
The path to the heights
The biography of the future star began in 1946. The child was born in Munich on July 7. The boy showed artistic abilities from childhood, but his father categorically objected to his stage career. Manfred learned to play the guitar at 12.
The teenager took part in theatrical performances, and after graduation he created the Mountain Shadows group. Then he worked as an entertainer, after the breakup of the team he became a theater actor of the comedy genre. However, the young man did not stop trying to make music professionally.
In the seventies, Manfred began working with the Hansa company, realizing himself as a producer, poet and composer. In the late seventies, he formed the Leonardo and Planetary Vision group and began looking for new talent. In 1981, the artist began performing as a member of the parody duet "Tess & Kess".
Confession
Todd Kennedy wrote the song "Slice Me Nice" for the aspiring singer Tess Teiges. Thanks to her, the pseudonym Fancy appeared. The single became a hit in 1984. The same fate awaited "Chinese eyes" and "Get Lost Tonight". The vocalist's new songs were in the Billboard TOP. The result was the release of the album "Get Your Kicks". Music lovers have never known so full of electronic effects. Several compositions were written by the performer himself.
After the debut collection, an international career started. In 1985, the listeners were presented with the single "Bolero", which for six months held the first place in the charts of Spain. From 1985-1086 the artist toured the world and produced as Ringo. The musician became the first performer in Germany to release singles in CD format. Album "Contact" surpassed the first in success.
In the fall of 1987, work began on a new compilation "Flames of Love". His title track of the same name has remained a hit since its premiere in 1988 on Polish television.
On stage and beyond
The video for the song of the new collection was created by Fancy himself, who became a successful composer and producer. Each new style was accompanied by a new name. The hit "Fools Cry" in 1988 became a triumphant hit. And the next year Fancy presented the result of his work as a composer and singer, the disc "All My Loving".
It was Fancy who introduced the fashion for mixing rap and hi-energy. An album with new arrangements of already well-known compositions was presented by the artist in 1994. After several compilations and a period of calm, the fans received an album of the best songs of the singer-songwriter in German.
Offstage, the artist spends time on a small farm next to his studio in the care of ten goats. Little is known about the singer's personal life. He studies esotericism, psychology. Fancy collects chandeliers, watches and books, as well as walking sticks, tie pins and peacock feathers. A one and a half meter porcelain leopard has been appointed as the guardian of wealth.
