Step 1
Study your travel document carefully. In the column "Carriage" the number and type of carriage will be indicated. For example, if "16 P" is indicated in this column, it means that your carriage is the sixteenth reserved seat.
Step 2
Arriving at the station, listen to the dispatcher, who transmits messages about the arrival and departure of trains. He informs about the time of departure of the train, as well as the order of numbering of the cars (from the head or from the tail of the train). Proceed to the platform indicated by the manager. To save yourself from unnecessary fuss in the process of searching for your carriage, arrive at the station in advance.

To find out the number of the carriage of a standing train, you need to pay attention to the windows located at the beginning or at the end of the carriage. They should have signs with the carriage number. The numbering of carriages, as a rule, goes in the usual order (1, 2, 3, 4, etc.), but sometimes there are situations when at the end or at the beginning of the train there is a carriage with a number that stands out from the general numbering. For example, after the eleventh carriage there is the twenty-fourth. This happens if the car is connected to the train at any intermediate station.
Step 4
If you do not see number plates on the windows of the carriages, ask the conductor who serves it about the carriage number. Usually at stations and train stations, they go to the platform or to the vestibule of the car.
Step 5
Another type of railway transport is the electric train. As a rule, the issue of the numbering of cars in an electric train is not important for a passenger, since a ticket is purchased without specifying a specific seat. But in some cases, it is imperative to know the carriage number, for example, in order to inform the electric train driver about some kind of malfunction. You are also obliged to inform the number of the carriage to the police officer accompanying the electric train, if an offense is committed in front of your eyes. The number must be indicated above the door at the beginning and at the end of the carriage.
