The top includes representatives of a wide variety of professions and of very different ages, but all of them are respected by people for their undeniable merits in matters of a political, social and humanitarian nature.
Forbes annually presents a ranking of the 100 most influential women in the world, regardless of their field of activity. They gain such high marks due to their active positions in culture, politics, economics, social movements and projects.
The top 100 most influential women in the world in 2012 included the heads of government of eight states, most of the ladies from this ranking are involved in politics or social movements. Several dozen women from the Forbes rating have shown themselves in charity and active solution of social problems.
25 ladies do business on a global scale, including Arianna Huffington, Oprah Winfrey, Zhang Xin, Diana von Fürnstenberg, Miuccia Prada, Kiran Mazumdar Shaw, Rosalia Mera and many others.
