She reached the highest pedestals that any athlete can only dream of - she received Olympic gold at the 2012 Games in London. We are talking about her - a native of a small district town in the Rostov region of Kamensk-Shakhtinsk, Ulyana Donskova.
Biography. The path to Olympus
Ulyana was born in August 1992 in an ordinary family. However, at the age of 5, the girl's life made a sharp turn - her father took her by the hand to rhythmic gymnastics. And Ulyana almost immediately began to succeed! Experienced coaches advised taking her to Moscow for viewing - so in 2008 Donskova got to the famous Novogorsk and began to train under the mentorship of Irina Viner herself.
The happiness of young Ulyana was not overshadowed by many hours of training, nor by severe restrictions on food - after all, gymnasts simply have to be light and airy. The stubborn Donskova always clearly saw the goal on the horizon and dreamed of achieving stunning success in an excellent sport called rhythmic gymnastics.
By the way, Donskova was almost immediately identified by the coaching staff in the group of group players - these are the gymnasts who perform not individually, but five of them. This direction is considered both difficult and spectacular: after all, five girls work synchronously as one. It is clear that this is not easy to achieve, especially in Russia, where the bench in rhythmic gymnastics is very long, and another athlete immediately takes the place of any athlete.
However, this did not happen with Donskova: the girl was even the captain of the team - the title is given to the one who knows how to unite the team of gymnasts and set the rhythm of the performance.
After the Games
In 2012, Ulyana Donskova announces the end of her sports career. This surprised many, because the girl is only 20 years old. Yes, there is a lot for gymnastics, but this is not the limit. However, Ulyana decides to develop in other projects.
According to the girl, her sports life tired her. For a long time after sports, she even gave up fitness, which led to a set of several kilograms. But after participating in numerous projects, including dancing with the stars on the federal channel, Donskova forgot about them.
Wonderful prospects opened up before the girl: she carefully chose which university to go to. And according to the sports tradition, I went to the Lesgaft Institute of Physical Culture and Sports in St. Petersburg.
Personal life
The private life of the gymnast-artist is not hidden from the fans - the girl leads an active life on social networks, uploads photos. From these photo stories it follows that Donskova married a former hockey player and gave birth to her first child in 2015. By the way, it is somehow customary for girls from rhythmic gymnastics to marry hockey players. Suffice it to recall Evgenia Kanaeva. Ulyana met her future husband at a match - in addition to gymnastics, she is also fascinated by other sports.
According to Ulyana, the girl would like her parents and brother to also move to the capital, but her father is against it and even calls Ulyana to live back to her hometown.
It can be argued that a simple girl from a small mining town managed to achieve not only professional heights, literally deserved them with sweat and blood, but also successfully builds family happiness. We wish her all the best and best!
