Ilchenko Kristina Sergeevna - famous Russian biathlete, master of sports of the Russian Federation. Three-time world champion in summer biathlon among juniors.
Biography
The future athlete was born in July 1993 on the 17th in the Russian city of Labytangi. Christina was an active child from an early age and loved sports. In the polar town, the choice of sections was not very large, and the girl was enrolled in the ski section. Christina really enjoyed skiing, and the coaches saw good potential in her. Later it was decided to reveal this creative talent in biathlon, and the girl was transferred to the local youth sports school, where children were trained in this sport. The first mentor of the future biathlete was the famous Honored Coach of Russia Khamit Akhatov, a former biathlete himself.
Under the guidance of an experienced teacher, Christina quickly developed and outgrew the local level of competition. In high school, she moved to the city of Tyumen, where she began performing at domestic tournaments in Russia, representing the Tyumen region at competitions.
Professional career
Despite early successes and high results at the junior level, Ilchenko could not advance higher for a long time. Domestic performances were the maximum, and the girl was not invited to the national team.
The debut at the international level took place in 2014, when the girl was invited to the national team to participate in the European Championship. The joy of the long-awaited event was short-lived, Ilchenko's results were extremely low: in the pursuit she took only ninth place, and in the sprint, fifteenth.
The following year, Kristina, as part of the national team, participated in the Winter Universiade, where the results were also low. In the mass start, she took only fifteenth position, but in the sprint the picture looked better: the girl, starting from 26th place, finished the race sixth.
At the adult level, she continued to perform at the Russian domestic championships, and here the successes were more noticeable. Ilchenko does not have a high level of shooting, but she is one of the fastest female skiers in the country, which often compensated for her mistakes in competitions. In 2015, Christina won her first medal at the national championship.
In the same year, the girl received an unusual offer: she was invited to play for the national team of Belarus. Already in November, she took part in the World Championship, where she took 54th place in the pursuit. To date, this is the best result of an athlete in her career.
A family
If Ilchenko's sports career is not developing very well, then in her personal life she is in complete order. The athlete met with biathlete Andrei Tokarev for a long time and finally married him. A magnificent celebration took place in August 2019. She leads her own Instagram, where she shares all the details of her personal life.
