Everyone who has watched the film "Ice" (2017) understands perfectly well that the actress Aglaya Tarasova, who played the role of the figure skater Nadezhda, would not have been able to perform all the tricks herself and generally skate so beautifully and confidently on the rink. However, not everyone knows that her stunt double was the famous figure skater Katharina Herboldt.
She not only performed complex figures for Aglaya, but also taught the actress to confidently skate for several months. Therefore, her contribution is in the fact that this film has become so popular.
The skater herself became famous after she began performing in various shows. She shone in "Ruslana and Lyudmila" by Tatiana Navka, "The Snow King" by Evgeni Plushenko and others. Recently, figure skaters have become frequent guests during performances of stars, and Katarina was no exception: she decorated concerts of Elena Vaenga, Svetlana Loboda.
Herboldt even tried her hand at sports commentary - she told viewers about figure skating tournaments.
Biography
Katarina Aleksandrovna Gerboldt was born in Leningrad in 1989. As a very young girl, she came to the rink and fell in love with figure skating. She managed to combine both studying at school and training, because from childhood she was very purposeful.
Subsequently, this quality helped her to become the Master of Sports of international class and the Champion of Russia among juniors.
Ice skating career
At first, Katarina performed in single skating, and then decided to switch to doubles. Since 2010, she skated with partner Alexander Enbert, and this lasted until 2014. Once in training, she was seriously injured and missed a whole season because of this. Her partner did not want to wait for recovery and began dancing with another partner. This was a big blow for the skater.
After the restoration, Herboldt announced that she would now perform with French Gian Sieber. However, after the couple danced in the show "The Snow King", Gibert retired. Katarina had high hopes for this union - it was like a second wind for her, but her dreams did not come true.
After that, Katarina still tried to train with other partners, but then decided to end her career and do something else.
While she was thinking about which sphere of activity to direct her attention, Svetlana Sokolovskaya, who was her mentor, intervened in her fate. She persuaded Katarina to go to coaching. So the skater found herself in Moscow and became a coach. At first, she doubted that she had chosen the right profession for herself, but then she realized that this was exactly what she wanted: to teach children to skate, to take the first steps in figure skating. And who knows - perhaps the future Olympic champions are already skating among them? After all, this is real creativity - to bring up a good skater.
Personal life
Moving to Moscow coincided with the beginning of a romantic relationship with a young man who just lived in the capital. True, they later parted, but this does not prevent her from loving both the city and her work. And hope for a change for the better in all areas of life.
