Biography
Elena Sedova was born on March 1, 1990 in Novosibirsk. The entire family of Sedova - parents and sister - are masters of sports. At the age of 11, the girl began to go in for athletics. Her father became her coach, Sergei Vladimirovich Sedov - master of sports of Russia of international class, champion of the USSR in track and field athletics and a famous coach of the highest category. In 2002, he got a job at a sports school in Novosibirsk and founded a running section. It was attended by 25 people, but only Elena began to engage in professional sports. The father did not want his daughter not to get to other Novosibirsk coaches.
The girl began to run short distances of 400 and 800 meters, but did not show high results until grade 11. My father did not force sports - he did not want to lose the potential of an athlete. In 2008, immediately after leaving school, Sedova entered the Novosibirsk State Technical University. The final exams were left behind - the girl began to devote more time to training, while not forgetting about studying at the university. After graduating from NSTU in 2013 with honors, she devoted herself to a sports career.
The first training camp took place in Kyrgyzstan in 2008. The experience of mountain training and classes at altitude gave the result - the athlete began to run faster. A year later, she was selected for the European cross-country championship.
Achievements in professional sports
In 2009, Elena Sedova won her first victory at the Russian championship in Saransk. She ran 3 km with a result of 9.34, 10, and 5 km - for 16.55, 99. A year later, she made her debut at a distance of 10 km at the Russian Youth Spartakiad in Saransk and took second place.

In Morlaix I tried my hand at the half marathon for the first time and showed an excellent result, although she did not take a prize. But already in 2012, Sedova returned to France for a victory - she took first place in the half marathon in Lausanne.

And the athlete won the biggest prize at the French competition in Cherbourg - 1100 euros.
Future plans
Elena Sedova began to focus on longer races. The sportswoman's specialization flows smoothly to distances from 10 to 21 km. The plans are to run a marathon. The girl ran at a distance of 42.2 kilometers only once: in 2016 in St. Petersburg at the White Nights. Despite the heat and lack of preparation for the race, she reached the finish line with a score of 2 hours 51 minutes. The marathon was hard for her: at 38 km she started having stomach problems, the last two kilometers she ran very slowly.
Elena Sedova's training system
Professional jogging is a serious exercise. The father developed a special lesson plan for his daughter: five days a week, two workouts a day. Developing crosses alternate with recovery ones. Even on rest days, she goes for a short jog of 8-12 km. The athlete runs 135-150 km per week, and 160-165 km before the competition. During the competition, the weekly distance is significantly reduced - 70-90 km. Elena's personal record is 172 km per week.
Bath and massage helps to recover after such loads. The girl tries to go to the bathhouse at least a couple of times a week. A cold shower after exercise also relaxes the muscles. During the competitive period, Sedova buys sports nutrition: vitamin and mineral complexes, BCAA amino acids.
Personal life and free time
The athlete not only manages to train during the week, but also finds strength in consulting other runners. She advises her students to control the pulse while running, engage in general physical fitness and adhere to proper nutrition. It's important to choose good athletic underwear, pay attention to protecting your Achilles, and wear seasonal shoes to avoid catching a cold. It's better to take a bottle of water and a banana with you to training - it's hard to run on an empty stomach.
In an interview with the research foundation Wings for Life, she advises women who are fond of running to eliminate strength and jumping exercises - this is harmful to the female body. But light sports running will benefit everyone. The main thing is to listen to your body and not train through force.
Despite her busy schedule, the girl has time to relax: she meets with friends, goes to the movies or on quests. The 29-year-old athlete is not married, she devotes all her time to running and training.
