We love foreign movies and cartoons. We watch them in Russian. Because there is dubbing - making the soundtrack of a film, TV series and even a computer game in a foreign language.
Instructions
Step 1
Without dubbing, only polyglots would watch and love foreign films. Dubbing - making a soundtrack for a film, cartoon and even a computer game in a foreign language. The process is creative and complex.
Step 2
The dubbing studio receives a draft or preliminary version of the film. The director looks at it and gives it to the translator.
Step 3
Then the translation falls into the hands of the stacker. Thanks to the man of this profession, the movements of the actors' lips on the screen are as close as possible to the dubbing text. The actors' phrases in Russian begin and end almost simultaneously with the original.
This is not easy to achieve. The speed of speaking in foreign languages is different: the English speak slowly, while the Finns, for example, very quickly. The French have short words, the Americans long. The organizer must adapt the literary translation without distorting the meaning. To give the impression that the character speaks Russian.
Step 4
Casting of actors is carried out by a dubbing studio. Samples are then sent to the producers of the film. They themselves select voices that are close in timbre and those who will speak for the main characters.
There are Russian dubbing actors who literally "stuck" to their foreign film characters. The viewer is accustomed to their voices, and the producers are constantly inviting for scoring, but they cannot be called popular. They are always behind the scenes.
Step 5
In addition to a good speech apparatus, the dubbing actor must have an excellent memory in order to "get on the lips" while pronouncing the text, and great patience. There are many doubles when dubbing.
Each voice is recorded separately. The actor in the studio does not directly communicate with his partners. The stage is built by the director. He also helps the actor to tune in, creates the right atmosphere. And he strictly monitors that the image created by the understudy matches the on-screen one.
Step 6
When dubbing cartoons, the opposite is true. First, the stunt double in the studio voices his character. The movements of his lips, facial expressions are filmed on camera. Then cartoonists draw them to the heroes. Therefore, the synchronization in cartoons is completely the same. And their characters often resemble those whose voices they speak.
Step 7
Further, the speech of the actors is cleaned, synchronized and re-recorded, that is, the voices are placed in the sound environment of the film.
Ambient sounds, music and all-all sound tracks are assembled by a sound engineer into a single picture. And the director makes sure that the dubbing is as close to the original as possible.
Step 8
The whole process takes about a month on average. And if the dubbing of the film is made with high quality, the viewer watches it in Russian, without thinking what language the heroes of the film originally spoke.
