Childhood, adolescence
Vladimir Georgievich Laptev was born on July 13, 1946. Vladimir grew up in an incomplete family. He and his two older brothers were raised by one mother who worked as a laundress. Money was sorely lacking. But, recalling his childhood, Vladimir Georgievich assures that he did not feel embarrassed or embarrassed, because at that time many lived like that. Only the absence of my father was burdensome. He left when Laptev was only a year old. Subsequently, it became known that he had another family.
The childhood of Vladimir Georgievich was very active. The future director disappeared in the yard for days, but at the same time he studied well enough. After school, he decided to continue his education, not wanting to live like many working people in the district.
In 1969 he graduated from the East Siberian Academy of Arts in the city of Ulan-Ude. In 1974, Laptev completed his postgraduate studies at the RATI (GITIS), the workshop of professors A. A. Goncharova and O. Ya. Remeza. The world of cinema fascinated him and opened up many new opportunities for a simple young man.
Career
Vladimir Laptev has been working in cinematography since 1968. He worked for a long time as an assistant director, and his first independent work was "Masquerade" by M. Yu. Lermontov. Vladimir Laptev was admitted to the Tallinnfilm team, where at the beginning of his career he directed a film about the Great Patriotic War.
In parallel with directorial work, Laptev actively acted in films. He has collaborated with the most famous stage directors and played with great actors. Vladimir Georgievich worked in theaters in Moscow, Sevastopol, Ulan-Ude, Tallinn, Nizhny Novgorod, Vladimir. He played in many theatrical productions:
- "The Cherry Orchard";
- "Two Maples";
- "Lips".
Laptev's game has been called energetic and extremely believable. Vladimir Georgievich has a unique talent to captivate the viewer from the first minutes after going on stage. His humor is subtle and always appropriate.
In the series "Kadetstvo" Laptev played the teacher of the Russian language and literature Stick. This role has become one of the most memorable for a wide range of viewers. On the set, he was highly respected. The cadets in the series were not played by professional actors, but at that time he taught at GITIS and became a real teacher for young colleagues.
By his own admission, he likes acting in films more than acting in the theater. Cinema makes it possible to convey hidden emotions and experiences to the viewer. In some scenes, even words can become redundant if you correctly capture the actor in close-up. In the theater, however, you have to express emotions more violently.
In 1982-1984, Laptev was the artistic director of the State Russian Drama Theater of the Estonian ESSR. In the early 2000s, he worked as the director of a musical theater in the city of Vladimir.
As a director, he staged many performances that were presented to both Soviet and Russian and foreign audiences. Among his works, the following are especially distinguished:

Currently he is actively working as an artist, director, teacher. Laptev teaches at the Moscow "Moon Theater", and also advises the management of the Russian Youth Theater in Tallinn.
Vladimir Georgievich became a laureate of 14 international theater festivals. His talent as a director was highly appreciated not only by domestic, but also by foreign experts. At the festival "Baltic House" he received the prize for the best male role in the play "The Cherry Orchard".

In 2014, he was elected chairman of the Council of Fathers of the Vladimir Region. Despite being very busy, Laptev finds time for social activities. As chairman, he did a lot. The Fathers' Council organizes cultural events, sports events with the involvement of all family members, including fathers. An organization led by a renowned actor and director helps single fathers cope with emerging problems. Laptev believes that such advice is extremely necessary and he is ready to provide the movement with all possible support, since he himself had to grow up in an incomplete family.
Personal life
Laptev met his wife Polina Dmitrievna in Tallinn when he lived and worked there. Polina grew up in a large family, but received a good education. When Vladimir Georgievich needed a speech therapist at the theater, he invited her.
A long friendship with Polina grew into a romantic relationship and in 1980 they got married. Vladimir Georgievich believes that he was very lucky with his wife and is happy that he met her on his way. Polina Dmitrievna has similar hobbies. She loves theater, cinema and supports her famous husband in everything.
Laptev became father at the age of 33. At that time, he actively went on tour and it turned out to see his son not as often as he would like. But they always spent their free time together. According to the director's relatives, Vladimir Georgievich is a great dad and grandfather. He takes his grandson Makar to theaters, talks to him about life. Laptev says that he would like to help Makar in the future to decide on a profession, so he is already developing some abilities in him.
