Rosalind Celentano is one of the most famous actresses in the Italian public, not only for her big name, but also for her provocative personality, a successful career in other areas besides cinema, as well as a stormy personal life.

Biography

Rosalind Celentano was born on July 15, 1968 in the capital of Italy, Rome.

In the famous Italian family of the legendary actor and singer Adriano Celentano and the equally talented actress Claudia Mori, besides Rosalind, there are two more children: Giacomo and Rosita.

Rosalind is the youngest in the family. Perhaps this explains her rebellious character. According to Rosalind, Claudia's mother was mainly engaged in raising children in their family, while her father was always busy with his career. Therefore, Claudia, as a good actress, in addition to her main maternal responsibilities, often had to play the role of a father in the family. From the memories of the youngest daughter, Claudia was a rather strict mother and kept her children in check.

At the peak of her puberty - at the age of 18, due to conflicts with her parents, Rosalind leaves home in order to find herself. This search ends in the sixth month of wandering with the homeless and the girl's shaved head.

Career

Even when Rosalind was 6 years old, a successful father directed the rock musical "Yuppie-Doo", where he involved all members of his family as actors.

At a more conscious age, the girl is carried away by the field of fine arts and music.

In the early 1990s, Rosalind recorded several songs and in 1990 participated in the San Remo Festival, also took part as a backing vocalist on her father's album Il re degli ignoranti. The girl is still engaged in musical arrangements.

And painting in the life of Celentano from the earliest years is not the last place. She presented her works at exhibitions in Italy and abroad, as well as at several international biennials.

The future actress got her first more serious role after her childhood experience in 1988. She played a secretary in the movie "Train with Cream".

And in the acclaimed film by Mel Gibson "The Passion of the Christ" in the role of Satan, Celentano appeared quite by accident. Initially, such a role was not in the script of the film, but at the casting, which the director personally conducted in Italy. The charisma of Celentano, coming from her photographs, conquered Gibson. He took the girl in, and then gave her the role of Satan. Rosalind appeared in front of the audience with a shaved head and no eyebrows. For the role, she also had to learn the text in one of the most difficult languages in the world - Aramaic. On top of all this, the actress was filmed without a fee to prove that she is interested in experience, not money. Rosalind's parents, being religious people, were unhappy with their daughter's participation in the picture. Especially her father, who from the very beginning did not like her choice to follow in his footsteps. But after watching the film, both were proud of their daughter's success.

During her acting career, Celentano was nominated for the David di Donatello Film Award for Best Supporting Actress in 2000 for her role in the film Sweet Noise of Life and in 2002 for her role in Probably Love. Celentano was three times nominated for the Silver Ribbon Award for Best Supporting Actress. Nominations brought her roles in the films "Sweet Noise of Life", "One Crazy Day!" and "The Passion of the Christ", in the latter case, the nomination was divided between Celentano, Monica Bellucci and Claudia Gerini.

Like any creative person, Rosalind Celentano is a person with a mobile psyche. In one of her breakdowns, the 36-year-old actress took 40 sleeping pills, washed down with vodka. Fortunately, the doctors managed to arrive at the scene quickly enough and save Celentano.

Personal life

The actress has never hidden her personal life from prying eyes.

At a very early stage, the actress stated that she was bisexual. She had romance not only with men, but also with women.

Already at the age of 18, she began dating Baagio Antonacci at the beginning of his musical career. In an interview, he admitted that his extremely popular songs in Italy "Pazzo di lei" and "Quanto tempo e ancora" are dedicated to their relationship. Rosalind and her older sister Rosita can be seen in the video clip of one of the songs.

Later, in confirmation of her orientation, at the age of 24, Rosalind has an affair with Monica Bellucci. Bellucci was then 28 years old. Later, the Italian actress Asia Argento becomes a partner in Celentano's love relationship.

Since 2010, the paparazzi increasingly find Celentano in the company of actress Simona Borioni. In 2013, in the Italian edition of Vanity Fair Rosalind officially discloses her relationship with Borioni and her thoughts on legalizing them in one of the countries where same-sex marriage is legalized, because unfortunately, Italian law does not yet allow this.

But 2 years after the Vanity Fair interview, Rosalind declares that she is free again.

An interesting fact is that, despite the religiosity of the parents and their difficult relationship with their daughter at an early age, today there is no debate between them about their sexual orientation. As the mother of Claudia Mori said, they just want their daughter to be happy.
