Georgy Shchennikov is a famous Russian footballer. Member of the 2014 World Cup, player of the Moscow football club CSKA.
Biography
On April 27, 1991, the future footballer was born in Moscow. The boy grew up in a sports family and himself experienced a craving for competition. Georgy's mom was fond of athletics, and dad was engaged in race walking. Georgy himself loved to play the ball and his father decided to take him to the football academy, the choice fell on one of the best schools in the country: the CSKA academy.
The mentor of the youth team was Nikolai Konovalov, he quickly discerned the talents of a promising youngster and managed to reveal them. A year later, Shchennikov was able to boast of his first trophy: the team won the youth tournament, which was held in Astrakhan.
Career
Shchennikov quickly progressed, and already in 2007 he was transferred to the second adult team. Nevertheless, the athlete continued to play for the youth team. In the summer of 2008, he entered the field for the first time as part of the club's main team. It happened in the cup match against the Vladimir "Torpedo". In total, in his debut season at the professional level, the player entered the field four times.
Already from the next season, Georgy was able to gain a foothold in the main team and began to appear regularly on the field. To date, the footballer has played 289 matches for the club and even scored 6 goals. Considering that on the field he takes the position of a defender, this is a very, very good result.
Since 2012, Georgy has been attracted to the games in the Russian national team. In 2014, the player was included in the national team's application, but he did not enter the field at the World Cup. At the 2016 European Championships, he also traveled with the national team to France. In a key group meeting against the national team from foggy Albion, the famous footballer entered the field from the first minutes and managed to score a goal pass. The meeting ended in a 1-1 draw.
During his short career, Georgy Shchennikov has already acquired a good baggage of trophies. As part of the CSKA club, he became the champion of the country three times, won the Russian Cup three times and the Super Cup four times. And in 2009, Shchennikov was named the best young player in Russia.
Personal life
Georgy met his future wife at school. The long-term romantic relationship eventually turned into a wedding. The couple got married in 2013, almost immediately after CSKA's next victory in the national championship. The wedding was attended by Shchennikov's colleagues in full force, the team made an unusual gift to the newlyweds: they recorded an almost half-hour show with their participation. In addition to the players, the head coach of the team, Leonid Slutsky, took part in the congratulation, addressing the newlyweds in his unique ironic manner. The couple have a son, Daniel.
In 2014, the newlyweds had a child, a son, who was named Daniel, and in 2017 the couple had a daughter, Ulyana.
