Few people know that Sergei Kuryokhin is not only a musician, composer, screenwriter and actor, but also the author of the viral concept “Lenin is a mushroom”. And, despite the fact that Sergei's life was not long, he lived it brightly.
Young years
Sergey Anatolyevich Kurekhin is a native of the Soviet Union, or rather, the city of Murmansk. Was born on June 16, 1954.
The child was born into a family of a military man and a mathematics teacher. When the baby was 4 years old, the family moved to the capital. However, a few years later they exchanged a communal apartment in Moscow for housing in Evpatoria. In his new place of residence, Sergei studied at two schools at once - music and general education. From the age of 4 he began to master the piano.
Immediately after leaving school, the whole family again changed their registration - this time they moved to Leningrad, where Kuryokhin became a student at the Institute of Culture. N. K. Krupskoy (now - SPbGIK). At the university, he tried to combine his studies at the same time in three departments, but he was repeatedly expelled. As a result, Sergei decided to leave the educational institution on his own, never having received a higher education.
The expulsion from the institute led to the fact that for some time he had to starve and be content with frequent and unstable part-time jobs.
Musical career
Once Kuryokhin met the Leningrad poet Arkady Dragomoshchenko, thanks to whom he became a frequent guest of the well-known cafe "Saigon" - a meeting place for informals of that time, so to speak, unrecognized geniuses.
In this cafe, Sergei met the members of the Post group and subsequently became its keyboardist. The group performed covers of popular rock hits of that period.
Soon, Kuryokhin left Post and joined the BZhK group, from which he also left a year later.
Love for music never left Sergei. The next stage in his work was the Gulf Stream team. But this was also a very short-lived project.
In 1981, a collection of Kuryokhin's compositions entitled "WaysofFreedom" was released in the West, which was highly praised by Western music critics. Unfortunately, by now, all the originals of this creation have been lost.
Later Kuryokhin was noticed by Boris Grebenshchikov - it was he who called the musician to the long-lived group "Aquarium".
During the time that he was part of "Aquarium", the group recorded 14 albums, in the creation of which one of the main roles, no doubt, was played by Sergey Kuryokhin.
While still a member of the "Aquarium", Kuryokhin gathered musician friends and created the "Pop Mechanics" collective. After the musician left Grebenshchikov's team, he completely concentrated on Pop Mechanics. The new big band became no less successful in Kuryokhin's career. With him he managed to visit Finland, Sweden, England.
In 1992, Sergei decided to "freeze" the activities of "Pop Mechanics", leaving for some time in Germany. After 3 years, the group returned to the big stage.
Over the entire musical career of Sergei Kuryokhin, his bands have released about a dozen albums and dozens of independent works.
Sergey Kuryokhin took part in the creation of the albums of the Kino and Alisa groups, as the members of these groups recall, Sergey worked with full dedication.
He has been a composer in over 20 films. Moreover, in 7 films Kuryokhin was involved as an actor.
Personal life
At the age of 18, Sergei first married a girl named Tatiana. Two years later, the couple had a daughter. However, as you know, young-green, as a result of which they divorced.
Then, on the way of Kuryokhin, we all met the well-known Larisa Guzeeva, with whom he had been in a relationship for 4 years, but they failed to become husband and wife and they parted.
The successful and handsome Kuryokhin was a magnet for many women, so it is not surprising that later a new passion appeared in his life. She was Anastasia, who married Sergei in 1983 and lived with him bob-by-side until the end of his life. The couple had a daughter, Elizabeth, and ten years later, a son, Fyodor.
Unfortunately, Elizaveta Kuryokhina died when she was 15 years old. The date October 24, 1998 became tragic for the girl, she swallowed sleeping pills.
Death
Shortly before that, in July 1996, the girl's father, whom she, according to her mother, loved very much, also died. Even more than usual. After the death of her father, the girl began a prolonged depression.
Sergei was struck by a sarcoma of the heart. Even the operation carried out in June 1996 did not help. The disease turned out to be incurable.
He was buried at the Komarovskoye cemetery, which is located in the suburbs of St. Petersburg. The daughter of the famous musician is also buried there.
