On April 2, 2012, Jamie married the famous Israeli director, screenwriter and producer Gaia Nattive. It is known that the wedding took place in Nattiv's homeland, in the city of Tel Aviv, Israel.

In 2013, a real tragedy happened in their family: their first daughter was born dead after the baby's heartbeat stopped at 9 months of Jamie's pregnancy.

Then Newman waited 4 years of treatment and numerous miscarriages. Then the couple turned to surrogacy services.

On September 18, 2018, a surrogate mother gave birth to a baby girl whom they named Alma Ness Newman-Nattive.
