Jamie Newman was born in Farmington Hills, Oakland County, Michigan, USA. There she spent her childhood. She graduated from the private school Cranbrook School and then entered Boston University. After graduation, the girl continued her education at the Interlochen Center for the Arts and Northwestern University.

Jamie Newman began her creative career in 2000, starring in the little-known action thriller Eric Mintz "Complete Break", playing the role of a little girl named Bo.
And in 2001, the girl managed to get her first famous and major role in the TV series "General Hospital". The series is a long-running popular American soap opera, with episodes aired on weekdays during the day. On April 2, 2012, Jamie married the famous Israeli director, screenwriter and producer Gaia Nattive. It is known that the wedding took place in Nattiv's homeland, in the city of Tel Aviv, Israel.
In 2013, a real tragedy happened in their family: their first daughter was born dead after the baby's heartbeat stopped at 9 months of Jamie's pregnancy.
Then Newman waited 4 years of treatment and numerous miscarriages. Then the couple turned to surrogacy services.
On September 18, 2018, a surrogate mother gave birth to a baby girl whom they named Alma Ness Newman-Nattive.
