At a certain stage in his life, Zakhar Mai meticulously mastered programming. But at one point he realized that he was attracted by a career as a musician and singer. Currently, his name is known to fans in Russia, Europe and the United States.
Starting conditions
Zakhar Borisovich May was looking for his true calling for a long time. By the will of fate, he ended up in distant New York and made every effort to succeed in business. He changed several cities, but did not achieve a decent result. However, he did not lose heart. He did not give up his hands. After many trial and error, I made the only right decision - to return to my native shores. And the homeland accepted its son who had received his sight.
The future musician and songwriter was born on June 25, 1969 in an ordinary Soviet family. Parents at that time lived in the famous city of Kharkov. My father worked as an engineer in a construction trust. Mother worked as a programmer in a computer center. Zakhar demonstrated musical talent from an early age. He easily memorized songs that were played on radio and television. He remembered and loved to sing them. In the elementary grades, with great desire, he attended the lessons of the children's choir "Skvorushka" at the city palace of pioneers.
Professional activity
Zakhar did not manage to get musical education. At the same time, no one interfered with him and did not forbid him to master the technique of playing the guitar. After school, he entered the Faculty of Programming at the University of Tartu. However, after the first course, the training had to be interrupted. In 1988, May, along with his parents and younger brother, moved to the United States for permanent residence. A well-fed and prosperous country met the immigrants from the USSR calmly. Zakhar got a job in the staff of a reputable company as a programmer. In his free time he continued to study music.
For fifteen years, May earned his living in various ways. He lived with dignity, but did not receive satisfaction from a well-fed existence. In 2002, unexpectedly for his family and friends, he decided to return to Russia. May chose St. Petersburg as a platform for adaptation. Here the work of the author-performer received a worthy assessment. Six months later, Zakhar recorded his solo album called "Black Helicopters". After the first performances, the musician formed a pop group "Shiva".
Recognition and privacy
The solo career of a performer is developing successfully for Zakhar. He works a lot on new works. He regularly tours the cities of the former USSR, Germany, Israel. Abroad, he was greeted with enthusiasm by former citizens of the Soviet Union.
