Fantastic Eremey Parnov

The first work in the field of science fiction was the book "The Secret of Immortality" (1961), co-authored with M. Yemtsev. Gradually, a strong creative union of the two authors developed: almost all the main works (and there are more than fifty of them) Eremey Iudovich wrote together with Yemtsev. This tandem was extremely famous in the 60s. But then the union of the two authors fell apart. Parnov completely retired from literary activity, but retained his representative and leadership functions in science fiction.

Together with A. Keshokov and A. Kuleshov, Parnov headed the Council for Adventure and Science Fiction Literature. This structure existed under the Writers' Union. Parnov has repeatedly represented Russian science fiction at various international forums. Parnov has worked hard to develop and promote the science fiction genre. He was also elected vice president of the influential body, the World Science Fiction Organization.

Parnov has written a large number of articles and prefaces to sci-fi works by other authors. They are combined in a 1968 volume entitled Modern Science Fiction.

Eremey Parnov as a researcher of occultism

Peru Eremey Parnov owns independently written detective-historical and adventure novels. Among them: "The Casket of Maria Medici" (1972) and "The Third Eye of Shiva" (1975). In these works, critics saw the writer's poorly hidden interest in the occult sciences and mysticism.

In the essays "Throne of Lucifer" and "Gods of the Lotus", written in the 80s, Parnov provides a critical analysis of a number of occult trends in the West and East. But the analysis is essentially just a cover for the popularization of dubious ancient teachings. The same trend can be seen in the story "Wake up in Famagusta" (1981). The German literary critic V. Kazak believed that Parnov's interest in esoteric knowledge actually testifies that he was worried about issues related to spiritual quests.
