Jeff Monson is a famous American mixed martial artist. Black belt holder in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. Since the end of 2018, he has been a Russian deputy.
Biography
Jeff Monson was born in January 1971, on the eighteenth, in the American city of St. Paul, Minnesota. From an early age he was a very active child and played sports. He began to get involved in mixed martial arts from school. Repeatedly participated in city and regional competitions. Having entered the university, he continued to study MMA, gaining one victory after another, he gradually went to the professional level. Then he decided on his fighting style.
Career
Monson played his professional debut in November 1997. The beginning of his career turned out to be rather bleak: unconvincing victories and frequent defeats did not distinguish Monson from the crowd of inexperienced fighters. But after a sensational victory at the World Grappling Championship, the situation changed radically: the young fighter was offered to sign a contract with the prestigious UFC organization. Under her auspices, he spent three fights, two of which he lost and went to gain experience in less prestigious competitions.
Throughout his career, Monson did not achieve special results in martial arts, but he was remembered by all fans of this sport for his scandalous antics. Positioning himself as an anarchist-communist, he regularly appeared in the octagon to the anthem of the USSR and shouted provocative words at the American government. He also repeatedly stated that he wants to become a citizen of the Russian Federation.
In 2014, he attracted attention with another trick: the fighter appeared in the octagon to the sounds of the unofficial anthem of the unrecognized republic of the DPR. In November 2015, he went to a fight wearing an "I am Russian!" T-shirt, and his PR managers announced that Monson had received Russian citizenship, but as it turned out later, it was a publicity stunt. The fighter himself explained this by a misunderstanding with the managers.
In December, Jeff officially became a citizen of the Russian Federation. From that moment on, his career took off sharply. From the octagon, he moved to the set and began to appear regularly in Russian commercials and various entertainment shows.
Politics
In 2018, Monson joined the United Russia political party and ran for the city council elections in Krasnogorsk. In the elections on September 9, he was elected to the council of deputies of the city district.
