Biography
Dmitry Ulyanov was born in 1972 in Moscow and was brought up in the family of an engineer and a teacher. After some time, the Ulyanovs moved from the prosperous Moscow district of Patriarch's Ponds to the outskirts - in Orekhovo-Borisovo. The boy had to grow up among peers from disadvantaged families, which is why he began to fail in school. Dima had to seriously take up his mind and find himself hobbies. One of them was judo, but due to injury I had to give up training.
At school, Dmitry Ulyanov often played in stage performances. So he showed a desire to become an actor, although no one supported the dream: the young man was expected to have a simple but stable career as a worker. And yet he tried to enter the Shchukin Institute. The attempt turned out to be a failure: the entrance exams were not passed. Dmitry seriously took up self-study and attended private acting courses for a whole year. As a result, he successfully entered the coveted specialty, although he now preferred the Moscow Art Theater School.
In his third year, the aspiring artist managed to transfer to "Pike" and graduated from the institution in 1998. After that Dmitry Ulyanov worked at the Vakhtangov Theater. I liked the work, but for a long time the team turned out to accept yesterday's student. Because of this, Ulyanov had to attend numerous screen tests in the hope of changing the place of work. Soon he was lucky to play in the series "Rostov-dad" by Kirill Serebrennikov.
For some time, Ulyanov starred in little-known TV series, until he received an invitation to the role of a submariner in the movie "72 meters", released in 2004. The project received positive reviews, but the actor himself remained in little demand. He played another notable role only in 2012 in the TV series "The Island of Unnecessary People". It was followed by the equally popular "Death of an Empire", "The Moscow Saga" and "St. John's Wort".
Personal life
Dmitry Ulyanov met his future wife Julia during one of his walks in Moscow, seeing her at the patriarch's ponds. The girl charmed the young artist, and he, in turn, even recalled a similar scene from Bulgakov's famous novel The Master and Margarita. It is interesting that Dmitry read some excerpts from it at the entrance exams to the theater school.
The novice actor preferred to have a relationship with his future wife, despite his high employment. The marriage was successful, and in 2004 the couple had a son, Boris. Dmitry still tries to spend as much time with his family as possible. From time to time he receives invitations to shoot. In 2016, he starred in projects such as Step Sisters and Stepmother.
