Georgy Nikolaevich was born in Tbilisi on August 25, 1930. When the baby was one year old, the family began to live in the capital. His father was an engineer, his mother got a job at Mosfilm. Since 2003, Georgy Nikolaevich has been the chairman of the Foundation, whose activities are aimed at the development of cinema. In 2015, the Cinema in the Theater project was launched, which consists of preparing plays based on famous films.

Danelia has many awards and titles, he is a People's Artist. In the 2000s, several autobiographical books of the director were published.

Personal life

Danelia's first wife is Ginzburg Irina. They got married in 1951. The marriage lasted for a year. Their daughter Svetlana was born, she became a lawyer.

Danelia entered into a second marriage with Sokolova Lyubov, an actress. They met on the set of the movie "Walking through the agony", lived together from 1957 to 1984. They had a son, Nikolai. He became a director, composes poetry, paints pictures.

Georgy Nikolaevich also had an affair with Tokareva Victoria, a famous writer. But the relationship did not end in marriage. Danelia's third wife is Galina Yurkova, she was a journalist, then became a director.
