Evgeny Aleksandrovich was born in the city of Gorky (Nizhny Novgorod) on October 9, 1926. His father was a metallurgist, and his mother was a milling machine operator. In 1954, Evstigneev moved to the capital and entered the Moscow Art Theater. He was admitted immediately to the second year. Evgeny studied with Doronina Tatiana, Volchek Galina, Basilashvili Oleg. Evstigneev finished his education in 1956.

The actor was offered to work in the troupe of the Moscow Art Theater, then he was admitted to the Sovremennik Theater, where he worked for 15 years. There were few main roles, Eugene preferred minor characters. Critics consider him his best work as the main character in The Naked King.

In 1971, Evstigneev resigned from Sovremennik, following his friend Oleg Efremov. They began to work in the troupe of the Moscow Art Theater. The following productions with his participation were popular: "Uncle Vanya", "Warm Heart", "Three Sisters".

In cinema Evstigneev appeared in 1957, playing in the movie "Duel". In subsequent years, he rarely filmed. The actor gained popularity thanks to the film "Welcome".

Evstigneev starred in many films that have become cult. In Ryazanov's films, he played secondary, but striking characters. In 1983 the picture "We are from jazz" was released. Evstigneev loved jazz, collected a large collection of records.

In 1985, Evgeny Alexandrovich starred in the drama "Winter Evening in Gagra". The script of the film was created on the basis of the biography of the tap-dancer Aleksey Bystrov. Another famous work was the role of Doctor Preobrazhensky in the movie "Heart of a Dog".

Personal life

The first wife of Evstigneev was Galina Volchek, a classmate. They got married in 1955 and the marriage lasted 10 years. Son Denis was born in 1961.

For the second time, Evstigneev married Zhurkina Lily, an actress. He was 11 years older than his wife. In 1968, the couple had a daughter, Masha. Lilia passed away at the age of 48.

A few months later, Evstigneev married again. Tsyvina Irina, a 20-year-old student, became his wife. They lived for 6 years. Later, in her second marriage, Irina gave birth to a son, whom she named Eugene.
