On May 1, 2011, the issuance of compulsory medical insurance policies of a new type began in the Russian Federation. Now citizens of the Russian Federation have the right to seek help from any medical institution in the country. On what conditions can you get it?
Instructions
Step 1
Find out for how long a new type of medical insurance policy can be issued to you. If you are a citizen of the Russian Federation or have come to Russia for permanent residence, then you will be issued a policy with no expiration date. Minor children will be served by the insurance organization that the parents choose. Those who live on the territory of the Russian Federation on the basis of a TRP are issued a policy for the period of their stay.
Step 2
Decide which insurance company is best for you to apply for an OMI policy. Subsequently, you will be able to change your decision, but it is allowed to do this no more than once a year, no later than November 1 (except for cases related to a change of residence or termination of the policyholder's activities).
Step 3
Contact your chosen insurance company. Submit your passport and SNILS. Get a temporary certificate that is issued for the duration of the compulsory medical insurance policy (usually 30 days). The fact that you will not immediately receive the policy is due to the fact that now all your data is sent to the Federal Compulsory Medical Insurance Fund, where it will be made. The details will be checked for possible double insurance.
Step 4
If you have not entered into agreements with other companies, then after a specified period of time you will receive a new policy by contacting the policyholder's office for it. Do not laminate this document for best preservation. The policy is the same for all companies, however, a special note is put in it when changing the policyholder.
Step 5
Ignore the assurances of health workers that you are obliged to urgently exchange your old policy. If your service has been denied on the grounds that it is overdue, please file a complaint with the Department of Health in your area. However, you must exchange your policy by January 1, 2014.
