Every day using computer equipment and various programs for a PC, every user, entrepreneur or head of an organization should remember that, perhaps without realizing it, he is committing an offense or even a crime if unlicensed software is installed on the computer.

Step 1
If you are working on a computer and using software, then make sure that it is licensed. As a rule, copyright for PC programs is confirmed by certificates of authenticity, which are placed on packaging and storage media. If you purchased the software from a store, check the packaging of the purchased copy of the software. A certificate of authenticity in the form of a holographic sticker, heat-sensitive strips or a watermarked sticker must be on the box containing the software product. These are the so-called boxed versions. Please note that the first thing a law enforcement agency checks is to check for labels. Therefore, keep the box and do not throw it away.
Step 2
If the packages have not survived, then check the CD itself: on its non-working surface there should be a special marking indicating the serial number and name and copyright holder. Check the contents of the CD itself: the licensed product is always singular on one disc. If the disc contains several programs: the so-called gold collection or gold software, then be aware that these are pirated products, the use of which is a violation of copyright.

Also, evidence of pirated versions of programs is the presence on the disk of various hacking programs and key generators that allow you to bypass protection. Be aware that not a single license, not a single software product, if it is distributed legally, provides for the presence on the installation (installation) disk of any keys for generating program codes, pre-designated usernames that must be entered, files named crack, and the like. …
Step 4
If you find that you are using unlicensed software, then immediately stop using it and either purchase the necessary license, or switch to using other software products that are distributed free of charge and without restrictions. In this case, remove previously used unlicensed software and destroy pirated CDs.
