Viktor Sidorov was born in the Primorsky Territory, in the city of Ussuriisk in June 1927. His father Stepan Sidorov was a railway worker. After graduation, Viktor himself went to work at the Barnaul Melange Combine as a mechanic.

But the literary talent of the future writer prevailed. And he began to work in the large-circulation newspapers "Stroitel" and "Altayskiy tekstilshchik" as an executive secretary, literary employee, editor.

Viktor Stepanovich also worked on radio and television. At the beginning of his career, he wrote stories, feuilletons, essays, poems. His creations were published in local newspapers and collections.

In 1959 Sidorov wrote and published his first story, entitled "The Secret of the White Stone". This book tells the story of three teenagers who went to look for a cache. The treasure was hidden during the Civil War. These were important documents from the distant past. The writer's contemporaries liked the fascinating adventures of the children. In our time, this story will be interesting to read for both teenagers and adults.

Then other literary creations of the prose writer came out, among them works: "Treasures of an ancient barrow", "The Devil's Hand".

His book, which tells about the red eaglet, became especially popular. It came out in 1964. The work was so in demand that it was published several times to satisfy the needs of all readers. It tells about the times of the partisan war in Altai. The story teaches love for the native land, honesty, courage, and the ability to be friends.

After the publication of this book, the writer received many responses from readers who certainly wanted to continue. For example, the teenager Sasha Blinov, in his letter to the writer, suggested that he himself write a sequel to the story and send Viktor Sidorov one chapter at a time, so that he would check if the boy was doing everything correctly.

Recognizing the merits of the children's writer, in 1968 he was awarded the Lenin Komsomol Prize, and 14 years later Sidorov became the winner of a competition held in his native Primorsky Territory. At the same time, the laureate was awarded the prize. So the writer's works were noted for his story "Weak!".

Viktor Stepanovich was actively involved in the social life of the writers' organization and his region. He was elected a deputy of the City Council.

The talented writer who made a great contribution to the creation of literary works for children and adolescents died in 1987. He is buried in Barnaul. But his wonderful works remained, reading which people of all age categories are immersed in a unique atmosphere, learn a lot about their peers of that time. The writer's books teach devotion, friendship, courage and courage.
