Alexander Korshunov is equally well known in our country, both as a film actor and as a performer of many roles on the stage. Currently, this talented artist is the successor of the famous creative dynasty and the father of two sons, who also followed in the footsteps of their father, learning from him, as a direct teacher, the basics of theatrical skills.
Soviet and Russian theater and film actor, director and teacher - People's Artist of the Russian Federation Alexander Viktorovich Korshunov - in addition to extensive filmography and many roles on the stage, has been heading the Moscow Drama Theater "Sphere" for a long time. Despite a wonderful dynastic startup, this talented person is known to millions of domestic fans as a wonderful and versatile actor.
Biography and career of Alexander Korshunov
Alexander Korshunov was born on February 11, 1954 in Moscow. Ilya Sudakov and Klavdiya Elanskaya, who are respectively the grandfather and grandmother of Alexander, were legendary Russian artists. His mother (Ekaterina Elanskaya) became the founder of the Sphere Theater, and his father Viktor Korshunov rose to the title of People's Artist of the USSR. There is no point in guessing who a person from such a family could become.
The Moscow Art Theater School and the stage of the Moscow New Drama Theater formed not only the skills of the acting craft, but also instilled in the young man a clear self-confidence. In 1981, the actor's mother founded the Sphere drama theater, which became the real creative house of Korshunov Jr., where he staged performances and took part in them himself as an actor. After the death of his mother, Alexander became the head of the theater, taking, however, an active part in the performances of the Maly Theater.
Having become a venerable specialist in his field, Alexander Viktorovich accepts an invitation from the Shchepkin Higher Theater School for the position of a teacher, where he was able to achieve a professorship. Alexander had his debut in cinema in 1981 with the film "Portrait of the Artist's Wife". And then the creative path of the popular artist was distributed in equal shares to theater and cinema.
In the filmography of Korshunov, I especially want to note the film works in the following projects: "I Can't Say Goodbye" (1982), "The Return of Mukhtar" (1983), "Small Fry" (2004), "Lenin's Testament" (2007), "Dove" (2008), “Peter on the road to the Kingdom of Heaven” (2009), “Brest Fortress” (2010), “Black Wolves” (2011), “Emergency Situation (Emergency Situation)” (2012), “Third World War” (2013), “Two winters and three summers” (2013), “Fool” (2014), “Time for the first” (2017), “Milkmaid and burdock” (2017).
Personal life of the artist
The only marriage of Alexander Viktorovich Korshunov with theatrical artist Olga Semyonovna Leonova became the reason for the birth of two talented sons, whom his father himself taught the basics of theatrical art at the Schepkinsky Theater School. Since the People's Artist of Russia himself does not like public discussions of his own family, there is very little information on this matter.
An interesting fact is the artist's acquaintance with his future wife in the late seventies, when Olga was still married to her first husband. It was the danger of dying during a strong storm, where they happened to be together, that helped them experience very strong feelings and get closer. Since then, two loving hearts have been beating in unison.
