The fantasy genre involves adventures in a fairy-tale world that is completely different from the present. However, as in real life, mutual assistance and courage are also valued there. But the heroes are sometimes helped not only by common sense, but also by a little magic.
"The Lord of the Rings" - the famous trilogy
The epic by John Tolkien was written in the middle of the last century, but became popular only after the large-scale adaptation of Peter Jackson. Viewers of all ages fell in love with the magical world of elves and hobbits, the mysterious Ring of Omnipotence and the frightening ad-Mordor. Although all three films were filmed at the same time, their screenings spanned 8 years. The most advanced techniques were embodied in the films, which popularized the 3D technology that appeared in many cinemas.
The trilogy has won 17 Academy Awards from 30 nominations.
"Eragon" - family fantasy
In the magical land of Alagaësia, elves, dwarves and witches are common inhabitants. Only the 17-year-old boy Eragon becomes unusual even for such a world. He learns that he became the last of the ancient race of dragon riders, once famous for their valor and courage. Together with the dragon, Sapphire, raised by him, Eragon becomes the head of an impromptu squad in order to kill the villain who took possession of his country. The film was based on the book of the same name by Christopher Paolini, but contains many discrepancies from the original. This was received ambiguously by fans of the novel.
"Stardust" - parallel worlds
The plot of the film is based on the existence of a parallel universe where magic, flying ships and stars with souls exist. The main character of the film, Tristan, is unaware of his royal origin and lives in an ordinary village. But in order to find happiness, he has to fly to the sky, meet a star, defeat witches and meet with his missing mother. A movie full of magic, courage and love can be watched by both children and adults.
"Alice in Wonderland" - a masterpiece by Tim Burton
Many people read the book of Lewis Carroll as a child. However, the king of fantasy Tim Burton makes you take a fresh look at a long-familiar story. In the film, Alice is already 19 years old and she lives in a completely ordinary world.
After the release of the film, songs dedicated to him and even clothing collections appeared.
But suddenly the girl finds herself in a rather strange place, inhabited by talking animals, strange characters and eccentric queens. Alice recalls that she dreamed all this in her childhood, but the surrounding reality is no longer like a dream. Burton's original production, which combines real and animated characters, won 6 Oscars and grossed more than 1 billion at the box office.
