Bob Gunton (full name Robert Patrick Gunton Jr.) is an American theater, film, and television actor. A career in cinema began in 1981 with a small role in the dramatic thriller "Pumping Capital".
The actor's creative biography includes 140 roles in television and film projects, including participation in the Tony Awards. During his many years of career, he has repeatedly embodied on the screen the images of prominent political leaders, among whom were: A. Lincoln, H. Peron, G. Goering, J. Wallace, Theodore and Franklin Roosevelts, W. Wilson, R. Nixon.

The future actor was born in the United States in the fall of 1945 in the family of Irishmen Rose Marie and Robert Patrick Sr. Father was a Democrat, trade union leader, Knight of the Catholic Order of Columbus.
The parents were believers and raised the boy in severity. They wanted him to become a priest. Therefore, they sent their son to study at the Catholic school Mater Dei High School. But his passion for creativity, love of theater and music changed the further fate of Robert.
After completing his primary education, the young man entered the University of California in Irvine.
When the Vietnam War broke out, Gunton was drafted into the army. He spent 3 years in the service, fought and was awarded the Vietnam Service and Bronze Star medals for courage and valor.
After returning home, Patrick decided to devote his later life to the profession of an actor. He completely plunged into the world of creativity, art and theater. Soon he was already playing on stage in one of the theaters in New York, and then began performing on Broadway in numerous musicals, among which was the famous play "Evita".
Gunton has been nominated twice for a Tony Award. First time in 1980 for the role of Juan Domingo Perón in Evita. The second time in 1990 for the lead role in the play "Sweeney Todd".
