He was raised by one mother, life was difficult, so Robin dropped out of school and went to earn a living. He did not even have a thought that he could become an actor - his occupations were rather associated with hard physical labor. He picked fruit in Israel, worked in a circus - swallowed fire, was a plumber and a doorman, he even happened to be a chimney sweep.

Then Hoskins decided to become an accountant and took professional courses. And his friend went to audition at the theater, taking Bob with him for support. Not to waste time, he also auditioned for the Unity Theater in London. It's easy to guess that he got the role, and from that audition, Bob began performing on stage.

There was such a moment in his life that he even played at the Royal Shakespeare Theater and other prestigious theaters in the country, and his repertoire includes a variety of roles - from images in classical productions to modern drama.

Film career

Hoskins' debut film role was a small role in the film "Behind the Front Line" (1972). The producers drew attention to the actor, and soon he began new filming in new films, although the roles were still insignificant.

The directors and colleagues saw how meticulous Hoskins was in his episodic roles, and with this he won everyone's respect. However, he had to wait for a big role for eight years.
