Talented British film and theater actor Timothy Dalton is best known to Russian audiences for his roles as Edward Rochester in the TV series Jane Eyre and James Bond in the films Sparks from the Eyes and License to Kill. Biography
Timothy Dalton was born on March 21, 1946 in Wales, UK. My father was a captain of the intelligence service during the Second World War, and then retired to the reserve. The mother was a housewife and raised her son. The boy studied at Herbert's gymnasium and dreamed of a career as a pilot. The theater was never interested in the future actor, but at the age of 16 he got the role of Hamlet in the play by William Shakespeare in a school production. The success of the performance changed Timothy's dreams. He decided he wanted to study acting. After graduating from high school in 1964, the actor graduated from the Royal Academy of Dramatic Arts. In parallel, he plays at the Michael Croft National Youth Theater. The actor got his first role on the professional stage in the play "Coriolanus" by Shakespeare, followed by roles in the performances "Richard III", "The Doctor in Dilemma" and "Saint John". After graduating from the academy, the actor entered the Bermingen Repertory Theater.
Career
In 1966, Timothy first appeared on television in the play Troilus and Cressida. Two years later, the actor got his first leading role in the historical drama "The Lion in Winter". After this work, Dalton received recognition and invitation from European directors. In the 70s, he actively starred in Italian and Spanish tapes, participated in historical television productions and played in the theater.
The first American film was the 1978 musical Sextet.
The 80s only strengthened the artist's popularity, films with his participation are released every year. British television in 1983 released the television series "Jane Eyre", where Dalton played the main role of Edward Rochester, which became the pinnacle of his career and was so loved by Russian audiences. In 1987, the actor plays the super agent James Bond in the movie "Sparks from the Eyes", giving his hero an aristocratic elegance. A couple of years later, the actor plays Bond again in the movie License to Kill. He became the fourth performer of this role.

Personal life
The actor never spoke about his personal life. Only one thing is known for sure - he was never officially married. In 1971, while filming "Mary Queen of Scots", Dalton met actress Vanessa Redgrave. They lived together for about 15 years, but never got married.
After 9 years, at the London Film Festival, Dalton met the Russian model Oksana Grigorieva. After a while, they began to live together, and Oksana became the second common-law wife of the actor. In 1997, the couple had a son, Alexander, but the relationship was never formalized. In 2007, they decided to break up, the reason for the breakup was the connection between Oksana Grigorieva and the Swedish millionaire Peter Blomkvist. The child was left to live with his mother, but this does not prevent the actor from meeting and spending time with his son.
Timothy Dalton now leads a quiet and reclusive life, devotes his free time to his favorite pastimes - fishing and reading.
