It is hard to believe that this prominent gentleman creates such different images in cinema. One of the roles that was most remembered by the audience was the role of Peter Pettigrew in the famous Harry Potter film series. However, Timothy Spall played a lot of other roles in his life, earning the love of the audience and the recognition of colleagues.
Timothy Spall was born in London in 1957. There were three more brothers in the family, so Timothy's childhood was fun. No one in the family of a postal worker and hairdresser suspected that one of their sons would become an actor. Nevertheless, his parodies of family were excellent.
His brother Matthew campaigned for him to become a programmer, but Timothy realized at school that he wanted to become an actor, so he entered first at the National Youth Theater, and then at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Arts, from which he graduated with a gold medal.
Now Matthew Spall runs a company that develops computer games.
Film career
Since 2000, Spall has been repeatedly nominated at various festivals for his film roles, and in 2011 came success: the team award for the film "The King's Speech!" - for the best cast. And in 2014, he received 2 prestigious awards for Best Actor in the film William Turner. Spall also has the rank of Officer of the Order of the British Empire, which was given to him by the Queen of England.
Meanwhile, it all started with cameo roles in TV shows, where Spall is not even in the credits. Finally, in 1978, in the films "The Life Story of Baal", and then in "Quadrofenia" (1979), he got more or less significant roles, so he considers these films to be his debut. Spall's debut was a success, and a year later he starred in several films at once. These were the television projects "The Cherry Orchard" and "Three Sisters" in 1981, "Oliver Twist" (1982) and others.
In the last decade and a half of the twentieth century, Spall starred in more than forty films and TV series, including the famous series "The Adventures of Young Indiana Jones" (1993) and the film "Under Cover of the Sky" (1990), which received two prestigious awards.
At the beginning of the new century, Spall's popularity as an actor only grew. He has created a huge number of characters in various projects, the best of which are the films "Damned United" (2009), "Sweeney Todd, the Demon Barber of Fleet Street" (2007) and "The King's Speech!" (2010). Some of the best TV shows of this period include Philip K. Dick's Electric Dreams and The Red Dwarf, which are still being filmed. Coincidentally, both series are fantastic. The first is filmed based on the stories of the English writer Dick, so the series are not linked by one plot. And the second tells about the crew of the spaceship.
There is another notable character in Spall's portfolio - the role of Winston Churchill. The actor managed to play this world celebrity twice: the first time in the film "The King's Speech!", And the second - at the closing ceremony of the 2012 Olympic Games in London.
Personal life
Timothy Spall lives with his family in Forest Hill, London. His wife Shane is also an actress, although not as much in demand as her husband. The couple have two daughters and a son, Rafe, who followed in the footsteps of his parents - he is a fairly successful actor. In Russia, Rafe is known for the film Life of Pi (2012).
