Instructions

Step 1

Decide which type of immigration (entry into the country for temporary or permanent residence) you are interested in. For Russian citizens, according to Swiss immigration laws, it is possible to obtain a residence permit on a work visa, purchase or register a business, create a tax agreement with the cantonal authorities. Citizens over 55 years old with a capital of at least one million Swiss francs (which is about 33 million rubles) can obtain a residence permit without a work permit.

Step 2

Contact an employer - a Swiss citizen and a representative of a Swiss company if you want to immigrate to the country under an employment contract. A work visa and a residence permit are issued at the expense of the employer. Apply in person to the Swiss Embassy in Moscow or the Swiss Consulate General in St. Petersburg with a package of documents for a visa. You must have a passport and two copies of it, an employment contract (original and copies), four Schengen photographs and an application for a D visa, filled out on a questionnaire form in one of the European languages: German, French, English or Italian.

Step 3

Submit documents for a long-term residence / family reunification visa to the Swiss Embassy if your spouse is going to immigrate under an employment contract or is already in Switzerland as an official employee. Please note that this visa can only be obtained by close relatives: spouses and minor children. To apply for a visa of this type (without the right to work), the original and a copy of the marriage or birth certificate will be required in the set of standard documents.

Step 4

Open a company in Switzerland or purchase a ready-made business and apply for a residence permit with subsequent citizenship (no earlier than 12 years later). Please note that an applicant for immigration in this case must be over 18 years of age and have no criminal record, and must spend at least 181 days a year in Switzerland. Passive investments, that is, doing business in the country, will be subject to an annual tax, the amount of which can be up to one and a half million Swiss francs.

Step 5

Enter into a tax agreement with the Swiss authorities, that is, make a one-time transfer to the country's treasury in the amount of one million Swiss francs. In this case, after considering the application for a residence permit, it is possible for you to immigrate as an active investor. However, in addition to injecting money into the Swiss economy, in order to obtain a residence permit, and subsequently citizenship, you will need to have Swiss real estate.
