Sharifov Sharif Naidgajavovich is a Russian athlete, a native of Dagestan. Born in 1988 into a family of representatives of the indigenous Avar people living in the North Caucasus. The real name of the athlete is Sharip Sharipov. Sharip spent his childhood and youth in Dagestan, where he received a general education. As a child, his father sent him to the freestyle wrestling section in Kizlyar. Parents supported their son in everything. After graduating from school, the young man moved to Makhachkala, where he continued to play sports under the guidance of the famous coach Anvar Magomedgadzhiev. The high competition among athletes in the Russian national team forced Sharip to move to another team. He moved to Azerbaijan, accepted the citizenship of this state and became a member of the national team. It was because of the new citizenship that his name began to sound like Sharif Sharifov. These are the features of the Azerbaijani language.
Since 2008, at all international competitions, Sharif has been playing for Azerbaijan, which brings great fame to this state in sports.
Sports career of Sharif Sharifov
The first sporting success came to Sharif in 2010. He took part in the World Championship in Herning as part of the national team of Azerbaijan, where he received the first major award in his life - a silver medal. Continuing constant training, the athlete improved his performance more and more. In 2010, he was able to take part in continental competitions, winning the first medal of this level. Then the athlete takes part in the European Championship in Baku. However, in the final of the tournament, he lost to Russian Anzor Urishev, winning a silver medal.
Since 2011, Sharif has become a famous freestyle wrestler. This is facilitated by his first gold medal at the World Championships in Istanbul. Sharifov began to be recognized, he had fans.
