Russian biathlete Svetlana Mironova took part in the 2019 World Championships. Among juniors, the athlete takes the first position in the world and Europe. The Master of Sports of Russia is the champion of the country.
Many hopes are pinned on the young biathlete Svetlana Igorevna Mironova. She opened a successful start with gold and bronze at the world tournament, second and first place at the European championship. A distinctive feature of the athlete is an excellent ski run.
The path to victories
The biography of the future celebrity began in 1994. The girl was born on February 22 in the village of Moryakovka, Tomsk region. Since childhood, the child was fond of music, studied well, loved to read. However, the main interest for Svetlana was sports. Mironova was attracted by cross-country skiing.
Nikolai Losev became the girl's first mentor. He immediately saw the potential of the student. The coach understood perfectly well that the pupil strives for higher results, therefore she invests in training completely. Soon he began to send the ward to the competition. Just a year after the start of classes, Svetlana confidently won the senior junior athletes.
Nikolai Nikolaevich suggested that the capable student try her hand at biathlon. He believed that in this sport, a girl is more likely to become the best. Sveta agreed. She moved to Yekaterinburg to study at the Olympic Reserve School.
The graduate continued her education at the Faculty of Physical Culture, Sports and Youth Policy of the Ural Federal University. She chose the German biathlete Magdalene Neuner as a role model.
Achievements
Since 2011, the Honored Coach of the Russian Federation Mikhail Viktorovich Shashilov has become the new mentor of Mironova. The student represented the Sverdlovsk region. In junior world-class competitions, Svetlana performed in the 2012-2013 season.
In the 6-kilometer relay in the Austrian Obertilliach, together with Victoria Slivko and Ulyana Kaisheva, the biathlete took first place. The gap from the rivals was almost half a minute. At the same competitions, Svetlana won bronze in the individual sprint.
A new achievement was the European Championship in the junior category. Mironova's champion title was brought by the pursuit race. She was second in the sprint. Unexpected failure awaited the girl in Presque Isle at the world championship. In the 2013-2014 season, an unsuccessful performance pushed the athlete far beyond the top ten from the top positions.
The next season, Svetlana entered the adult group. She prepared in advance for the competition to intensify. The rivals were distinguished by great experience, therefore the 2015-2016 season did not bring any awards. Valery Medvedtsev prepared the athlete for new performances. Under his leadership, the biathlete showed good results at the Cup of the country. The athlete was included in the team representing Russia at the IBU Cup.
New perspectives
Mironova did not bring medals, but she showed good prospects in the ten-kilometer pursuit and sprint at the stage in Martell-Val Martello. Svetlana was fourth. The European Championship was held in the same period. Of almost 90 participants in the individual 15 km race, the Russian biathlete finished fifth.
A promising participant was invited to the main team at the pre-Olympic stage of the World Cup in Pyeongchang. The athlete was declared for the 2nd stage of the relay, despite the unsuccessful performance. The girl missed the Olympic Games. However, according to sports analysts, Svetlana is fully prepared for the next Olympics. And these games will bring her many awards.
So far, the athlete is unhappy with her shooting success. But she has a lot of races ahead. This will allow her to fully prepare for the games in China.
An active girl leads a page on Instagram. She regularly updates photos to keep fans updated on the news. She uploads pictures from vacation, from training camps and trainings. Svetlana shares with subscribers her impressions of the books she has read. It is known that her favorite writer is Dostoevsky, she loves Bradbury and Puzo. But the biathlete is in no hurry to talk about her personal life.
On her account there is not a single picture with the chosen one. Therefore, fans believe that Svetlana has no novels with anyone. And the athlete herself has repeatedly admitted that she is most passionate about her sports career. So far, Mironova has neither a husband nor a family.
Plans and their implementation
In Oberhof, Svetlana showed not the best results in the sprint. In 2018, on February 21, at the 6th stage of the National Biathlon Cup, held in Tyumen, Mironova became the third in the sprint race. She was included in the list of athletes for the final training camp in St. Petersburg.
For the world championship in Östersund, both the quality of fire and the rate of fire have significantly improved. The athlete trained a lot.
In November 2019, in the "Pearl of Siberia" competitions held in Tyumen, Mironova demonstrated excellent potential at test starts, winning both sprints. She got a ticket to the Eurocup.
