The fear of the approaching end of the world has haunted humanity from time immemorial. This topic is actively exploited by various religious confessions and predictors, and becomes the subject of scientific research. There is even such a teaching as eschatology, which studies this phenomenon. The dates of the end of the world, according to the predictions of different soothsayers, differ significantly from each other in terms of timing. In the last decade alone, Earth's inhabitants have experienced several of these predicted days.

In many religions, the end of the world is described in the same way: after a global catastrophe that destroys cities, a flood and fire will follow, in the fire of which all the wicked will burn. After cleansing by the end of the world, the world will have to be reborn. The mention of the end of the world is also in the Bible, but the exact date is not named in it. But the Mayan priests are supposed to have called 2012 the year that will be catastrophic for humanity. They determined the day with high accuracy - it falls on December 21. However, recently there have been refutations to this, but for many inhabitants of the Earth this date evokes the most unpleasant associations and genuine fear.

Ecologists did not stay away from the discussion of this issue and forecasts of the end of the world. After analyzing the history of human development, they gave several options for its further development in their WWF Living Planet Report. In one version, 2050 is called the year of the onset of the apocalypse. Of course, I don’t want to believe this, but the conclusion of ecologists is based on the data provided to them by scientists from the London Zoological Society and the Global Footprint organization.

The date of the end of the world, predicted by the great English mathematician Isaac Newton, is somewhat different. According to his calculations, the Earth will cease to exist in 2060, 1260 years after the Holy Roman Empire was formed.

More optimism is inspired by the forecasts made by the famous French medieval physician and alchemist Nostradamus. Many researchers, studying his allegorical predictions, tend to find coincidences with past historical events. If you believe the French soothsayer, humanity will be able to live until 3797.

If you collect all the prophecies, it becomes clear that there is no point in making any plans for the next 8-10 years - by 2020, according to various sources, more than 10 world cataclysms similar to the end of the world are expected. The reasons are very different: the fall of a meteorite, the disappearance of oil reserves and the war for natural resources, the disruption of the space cycle and a significant change in the poles of our planet, its transition to the fourth dimension, nuclear war.

As you can see, humanity has many options to end its existence in the coming years. However, one should not forget that he has already managed to survive more than a dozen dates on which the would-be prophets appointed the Day of Judgment.
