The fall of a giant asteroid, an ecological catastrophe, the end of the next global cycle of the Mayan calendar … The probable coming of the end of the world this year is one of the most fashionable and widely discussed topics.

The topic of the upcoming apocalypse continues to remain relevant, despite numerous attempts at such predictions known in history, none of which, as everyone could see, was not crowned with success. The reason for this, on the one hand, is an attractive opportunity for many to tickle the nerves with another horror movie, on the other hand, the excitement artificially inflated by various media around apocalyptic forecasts.

Naturally, most normal people do not believe in the end of the world. Simply because of the healthy tendency of the human mind not to trust either too gloomy forecasts or overly optimistic ones. However, there are those who, despite historical examples and the voice of common sense, are confident that it will come in the very near future. First of all, these are hopeless pessimists. People whose view of their destiny and the world in general is so gloomy that they are sure that this will not end well. Perceiving only the negative aspects of any information, they come to the conclusion that the end of everything is inevitable and close.

Another group of persons is gullible people, inclined to take on faith even the most incredible information, without subjecting it to any meaningful analysis.

And, finally, the most numerous category, which includes partly representatives of the first two - adherents of religious movements, followers of various teachings and sectarians.

At all times, representatives of religious structures covertly (and sometimes explicitly and even officially) contributed to the spread of rumors among believers about the end of times. And this is understandable: people who are frightened of impending disasters and are concerned with saving their souls are easier to manipulate - they are passive politically and socially.

Of course, the likelihood of the end of the world cannot be completely ruled out. In theory, it can come at any moment. But this is not a reason to stop soberly assessing reality and enjoy life in all its manifestations - both spiritual and material.
