The future academician was born on December 29, 1950 in an intelligent Soviet family. Parents lived in Moscow. My father worked as a surgeon at the famous Sklifosovsky clinic. Mother taught a foreign language at a medical institute. Mikhail grew up as a sociable and energetic child. I studied well at school. When the time came to choose a profession, he decided to get a specialized education at the capital's medical and dental institute. During his student years, Gorshkov became interested in social work. For three years he headed the Komsomol committee at the faculty.
Scientific activity
After graduating from the institute, Gorshkov was invited to work in the Komsomol in the Sverdlovsk district committee of the Komsomol. Mikhail liked to solve the tasks set by the party. He easily found a common language with people. He was distinguished by his sociability and attentive attitude to people. Gaining life experience, he transferred to the Academy of Social Sciences under the Central Committee of the CPSU. The research career of the Komsomol leader was developing successfully. In 1979 he defended his Ph. D. thesis on the topic "Formation of socialist public opinion." In 1991 he was appointed director of the Institute of Theory and History of Socialism.
After the collapse of the Soviet Union and the ban on the activities of the CPSU, there were changes in the program of activities of the institute under its jurisdiction. After numerous reorganizations and optimizations, in 2005, Mikhail Gorshkov headed the updated structure - the Institute of Sociology of the Russian Academy of Sciences. Among the urgent problems that had emerged by this time, scientists identified injustice and poverty of the population. Gorshkov made his contribution to the analysis of this topic. In 2017, a large article criticizing the current situation was published on the pages of the Kultura newspaper.
Recognition and privacy
The work of the scientist in the research field was appreciated by the Government of the Russian Federation. Mikhail Gorshkov was awarded the State Prize. In 2009 he was awarded the Order of Merit for the Fatherland.
The personal life of Mikhail Konstantinovich was stable. He is legally married. The husband and wife raised and raised two daughters.
