Many people only notice the negative things that happen to them in life. They focus on what they don't have. They forget to thank the Lord. Whatever emotions you feel, thank God for everything he has given you.
Instructions
Step 1
Think about what was and is good in your life. People do not pay attention to what they already have in this life. Some citizens complain that they do not have a large house, although they own an apartment. Others, for various reasons, remain homeless. Everyone wants to eat something tasty, forgetting about the starving.
Step 2
Thank God in your own words if you do not know a special prayer. After that, cross yourself three times with the words: “In the name of the Father, and the Son, and the Holy Spirit. Amen". If you are surrounded by people, just say to yourself: "Thank you, Lord!" According to the Orthodox teaching, Christians should thank the Lord for everything. It so happens that something bad happens in life. The Orthodox believe that God sends trials so that a person repent of his sins and embarks on the path of correction.
Step 3
Read the Psalter, a book that is part of the Bible. It contains 150 songs, many of which are dedicated to the thanksgiving of the Lord. Reading this holy book will spiritually strengthen you.
Step 4
Go to any Orthodox church. Buy a candle from church officials and place it in front of the icon of the Savior. As a rule, this image is placed on the right in front of the altar. If you don't know prayer, buy a prayer book from the church store. This is a book that contains prayers for different occasions. There are special alms boxes in the temple. Put as much money in there as you see fit. This money will be used to rebuild the church, buy church utensils, etc. In this way you will thank God.
Step 5
a thanksgiving prayer service in the church. This is a special service in which the priest reads special prayers to the Lord. Write on a piece of paper the names of those from whom it will be performed.
Step 6
Do any good deed, because this is the best gratitude. Give money to a beggar, feed a hungry dog, help your relatives.
