Since the 17th century, France (primarily its capital Paris) has become a recognized center of world art. Unsurprisingly, the country is home to many internationally renowned museums.

Step 1
The most famous museum not only in France, but throughout the world is the Louvre. The richest collection of the museum consists of 300,000 exhibits, of which only 35,000 are exhibited in the halls. Perhaps the most famous of the works of art presented in the Louvre are the masterpieces of antique sculpture of the Hellenistic era Venus de Milo and Nika of Samothrace and, of course, Leonardo's La Gioconda da Vinci. We must not forget that the building of the Louvre itself, which for many centuries served as the palace of the French kings, is the largest monument of world culture. The glass pyramid built in the 80s of the 20th century is also famous and is the main entrance to the museum.

The Musée d'Orsay in Paris is famous for the world's largest collection of Impressionists and Post-Impressionists. Here you can see the infamous "Breakfast on the Grass" by Edouard Manet and the almost modern in style "Gare de Saint-Lazare" by Claude Monet, the serene "Ball at the Moulin de La Galette" by Auguste Renoir and the picturesque "Red Roofs" by Camille Pissarro, the photographically accurate "Dance class "by Edgar Degas and expressive" Starry Night "by Vincent Van Gogh, as well as many other masterpieces.

One of the best European painting museums is the Picasso Museum in Paris. It contains not only a huge number of works by the great master, but also his personal collection, including works by Paul Cézanne, Henri Matisse, André Derain, Georges Braque, Joan Miró, as well as the famous painting "The Customs Officer" by Henri Rousseau.
Step 4
Another of the most popular museums in the French capital is the Rodin Museum. In addition to numerous works by the great sculptor (including the famous "Thinker"), the works of his beloved Camille Claudel and Rodin's personal collection of paintings, including paintings by Vincent Van Gogh, are kept here.

In the center of the famous artistic quarter of Montmartre, there is the Salvador Dali Museum. In his collection there are more than 300 works of the artist, mainly sculptures and prints. The pride of the exhibition is the complete set of unique Dali engravings signed by the author.

The Museum of Contemporary Art, where you can see the works of such outstanding artists of the twentieth century as Pablo Picasso, Henri Matisse, Paul Klee, Rene Magritte, Yves Tanguy, Wassily Kandinsky, Marc Chagall, Kazimir Malevich and Jackson Pollock, is part of the complex of the National Art Center and culture named after Georges Pompidou. In terms of attendance, the Pompidou Center ranks third among the main attractions in France after the Louvre and the Eiffel Tower.
