For the purpose of self-promotion, the editors of some scientific journals send copies of their publications to a potential audience free of charge. Most often, free subscription to magazines is carried out at specialized exhibitions.
Instructions
Step 1
Get a ticket to an exhibition with a profile that matches the theme of the magazine. If the field of your professional activity does not correspond to the profile of the exhibition, you will have to buy a ticket. If it does, ask your superiors in time whether such tickets have been received at your organization's address.
Step 2
Once at the exhibition, be sure to register for it. Indicate the address of the organization where you work, and tickets for all subsequent exhibitions with the same name will most likely be sent to you personally at this address. You can use them to renew your subscription to free magazines.
Step 3
Find the stand of the magazine you are interested in in the showroom. Ask if it's a free subscription. If yes, fill out the form. Indicate the real data: the address of the organization, position, surname, name, patronymic. Indicate the articles on which topics you are interested in in the magazine in the first place. Give the completed questionnaire to the representatives of the editorial office. If the editors make a positive decision, they will soon start sending you free magazines to work. Do not try to deceive the editorial board by indicating a higher position - if the deception is revealed, you can be blacklisted and set up not only yourself, but the entire organization: other employees can also be deprived of the right to a free subscription to the same magazine.
Step 4
Do not be surprised if during the subscription period you will not receive all the issues of the magazine or its copies from the previous year or even the year before last. It is not profitable for the editorial office to work at a loss, its management expects that you will like the magazine, and you will switch to a paid subscription. When the free subscription period ends, they will no longer send you magazines altogether. To extend this period, do not forget to visit the stand of the same magazine at exhibitions (not necessarily with the same name) and renew the subscription immediately after its completion (but in no case in advance - duplicate questionnaires may be canceled).
