The future talented actor was born in Tashkent, the capital of Uzbekistan, on July 25, 1950. The boy was brought up in an atmosphere of love and parental care. Rustam's father was a party leader, but did not differ in his strict attitude towards children. The mother took the main care of the upbringing of the children. Sometimes she had to apply very harsh measures to them.
During his school years, the artistic Rustam attended the drama club in the House of Pioneers. One of the boy's idols was G. Millyar, well-known to Soviet audiences, whom the young actor tried to imitate in everything. More than once Rustam portrayed fairy-tale characters in the style of Georgy Millyar at matinees.
For the first time on the screen Sagdullaev appeared at the age of thirteen: it was the role of Alimjan in the film "The Rope Walkers". While working on that project, the boy carefully noticed how his older comrades create cinematographic images; many of them were the stars of the national Uzbek cinema. Since then, cinema has entered Rustam's life forever.
R. Nakhapetov took part in the fate of the Uzbek actor. It was he who recommended the Uzbek actor to L. The year 1984 has come. Sagdullaev tried his hand at directorial work, having shot the picture "Stay".
After the collapse of the Land of the Soviets, a bleak black streak began in the cinema of Uzbekistan. Most of the actors were left almost completely without a livelihood. Sagdullaev, who was used to working at an extremely high creative level, did not agree to participate in low-standard film projects even in those difficult conditions. The period of depression in the actor's life ended in the late 90s; he was actively involved in the work again.
In 2001, Rustam Abdullaevich finished working on the TV series "The Blind", becoming a director, one of the script creators and a producer. He also starred here. By that time, Sagdullaev already had his own studio, called "Ravshan Film". The actor named this project after his son.
Rustam met his future life partner Marina Rustam back in 1987, when he was filming the film "Shock". Marina Kuzina was at that moment the head of the sewing shop at Uzbekfilm. Now R. Sagdullaev's wife has her own atelier. Together, the parents raised their son and daughter.
