Early biography

Pavel Arsenov in 1936 in the modern Georgian capital Tbilisi, which was previously part of Armenia and was called Tiflis. The future artist was brought up in a simple family far from art. During his childhood, there were hungry and gloomy war years, after which Paul began to look for new reasons for joy and the will to live. Cinema became Arsenov's real passion, and he spent almost all of his time in an old cinema.

The young man was distinguished by skillful hands, mastered the art of carpentry and hairdressing, but did not begin to earn money on this. In Tbilisi, he graduated from the Institute of Geology and again became disillusioned with the choice of a profession. Cherishing his childhood dream of cinema, Pavel Arsenov got a job at the Georgia-Film studio. After working there for some time and gaining a little experience, he went to Moscow, where he immediately entered the directing department of VGIK, from which he graduated in 1963.

Creation

Pavel Arsenov began his career at the Maxim Gorky studio, filming at first little-known short films. A few years later, he shot his first full-length film, entitled "Saving a Drowning Man." Also in the 60s, Pavel himself tried to act in films, appearing in the film "Voices of Our Quarter". At the end of the same decade, the director made the film The Stag King, which provided him with much-needed experience in working with fantastic projects in the future.

In 1978, Pavel Arsenov, presented the audience with a drama called "Do not part with your loved ones", which brought him all-Union fame. But the director's finest hour was another fantastic film based on the book by Kir Bulychev "Guest from the Future", released in the mid-80s. Children and adolescents of that time were just crazy about the picture. The director presented his last film "The Wizard of the Emerald City" to the younger generation in 1994.

Personal life and death

The family life of Pavel Arsenov developed quite well, although not immediately. His first wife was Valentina Malyavina, whom he met during a regular filming. For the sake of a courageous director, a woman divorced actor Alexander Zbruev. Some time after the wedding, Valentina became pregnant, but her daughter died during a difficult birth. This led to a deterioration in family relations, and the couple broke up.

Soon, the director married a second time to a woman named Valentina, who turned out to be twice his age. In this marriage, a daughter, Elizabeth, was born. Pavel Arsenov lived until mid-1999 and died of an unknown illness. The talented director was buried at the Shcherbinsky cemetery in Moscow.
