During the Soviet era, the student knew the quote of one of the founders of Marxism F. Engels: "The family is the unit of society." Although the Soviet Union collapsed long ago and Marxism-Leninism ceased to be a state ideology, this phrase has not lost its relevance.

Step 1

Despite the fact that the institution of the family, both in Russia and abroad, is currently undergoing a serious crisis for various reasons, the family continues to play a very important role in the life of any society, in fact being its stronghold.

Step 2

The family performs several important functions, without which society is simply not capable of a normal existence. First of all, reproductive. Although the times when the birth of an illegitimate child was considered scandalous and threw a stain on the mother and her parents are in the past, most children are still born to people connected by marital ties. That is, thanks to families, population reproduction takes place, society continues to exist.

Step 3

Most sociologists, psychologists, doctors and other specialists argue that family education, the influence of the father and mother, more fully, more often contributes to the formation of a healthy and harmoniously developed child than in cases where children are brought up in public or private institutions. Of course, there are exceptions, but they do not change the overall picture.

Step 4

It is in the family that the child receives the necessary communication skills, behavior, forms a system of values, learns from adults, repeating the words of the famous poet, "what is good and what is bad." In the family circle, from dad and mom, as well as other adult relatives, he learns about his country, about its history, heroic and tragic pages of the past. This contributes to the formation of patriotism in the growing citizen of Russia.

Step 5

Family life, with its common concerns, troubles, holidays, teaches all its members - both adults and children - to mutual understanding, respect, to the readiness to reasonably limit their own desires and needs for the sake of the common good. And this is very important. After all, the society imposes exactly the same requirements on every citizen. If the whole society (or at least its majority) consisted of egoists, concerned only with fulfilling their own desires and indifferent to the needs and problems of other people, its fate would be unenviable.

Step 6

In a family where correct upbringing is carried out, a child from an early age is introduced to work, feasible help around the house, respect for elders, and compassion. And this again benefits society as a whole. Thus, it is not difficult to conclude: the stronger each individual family, the stronger the society.
