If we are talking about cinema, then Hollywood and others like it immediately appear in my head. However, the film industry does not end in Hollywood. In the world, oddly enough, there are actors and actresses who have not conquered Hollywood, but whose talent no one belittles. Such is the Polish film and theater actor - Daniel Olbrychsky.

Daniel Olbrychski (Polish Daniel Olbrychski; February 27, 1945)
Daniel Olbrychski (Polish Daniel Olbrychski; February 27, 1945)

From simple to famous

Daniel Olbrychsky was born in the Polish city of Lowicz (which is 73 kilometers from Warsaw) on February 27, 1945. We can say that Daniel was born into a family of intellectuals - his dad was a journalist, and his mother was a teacher of foreign languages at the Lyceum.

Daniel was the second child in the family - his older brother Krzysztof passed away in March 2017.

It is worth noting that although Daniel's parents were intellectuals, people of the humanities, this still in no way prevented them from participating in the Warsaw Uprising against the Third Reich in 1944 (which, by the way, ended in the suppression of the rebels).

When Daniel was 11 years old, his family decided to move to the capital - Warsaw, where they lived for a long time in a communal apartment.

In the Polish capital, young Olbrychsky graduated from an incomplete secondary school and then became a student of the S. Batory Lyceum (Polish ruler of the 16th century). While still a teenager, he became a member of an amateur studio on local television, where he appeared in the Poetic Studio program, which brought popularity to the young aspiring actor in narrow circles. Thanks to this coincidence, at the age of 18, almost at the end of the lyceum, he got a role in the war film "Wounded in the Woods".

In 1964, he became a student at a theater university, and already in his first year, Daniel was in the lead role of the film "Ashes". This picture, and in particular, an excellent script and no less excellent acting of the actor - all this allowed Olbrychsky to climb a new wave of popularity. Later, Olbrychsky becomes a favorite of the Polish director Andrzej Wajd, in whose films, later, Daniel often appears. It seems that the Polish actor has won the love not only of the audience of his country, but also of his colleagues.

The creativity of the actor can only be envied. Daniel Olbrychsky became an actor not only in Polish, but also in European cinema. His filmography includes more than 60 films (including "The Turkish Gambit", "Legend No. 17", "The Barber of Siberia"), where he got both major and minor roles.

Throughout his acting career (which, by the way, continues to this day), Olbrychsky is the winner of many awards, among which there are French (Knight of the Legion of Honor) and German (Officer of the Order of Merit to the Federal Republic of Germany), and Russian (Pushkin Medal). We can say that Daniel Olbrychsky is a kind of cosmopolitan person.

Personal life

Referring to how the actor lives on the other side of the screen, it must be said that he was legally married three times. Speaking of today, for 15 years now he has a wife, Christina Demskaya, who is also the actor's manager.

Daniel Olbrychsky has three children from different unions: two sons and a daughter. Rafal's son became a musician, and as for the other two children (Veronica and Victor), they live in the United States.
