There is a huge number of actors in the world who are either overrated or, on the contrary, underestimated. Below, we will talk about an actor who does not have any awards, but whose acting has impressed many film critics. What education did the actor, whose name is Gail Harold, receive, and how did he come from Pentecostalism to creativity?
Family and finding yourself
Gail Morgan Harold III was born 49 years ago, on July 10, 1969 in Decatur (Georgia). His parents are people of different professions. Gale's father is an engineer and his mother is a realtor. However, Harold's parents are Evangelical Christians (Pentecostals), who very strictly raised their children, including Gale, the second child in the family.
But, despite the strict upbringing of his parents, Gale dared to leave the church when he was 15 years old, because he did not believe in the tenets of this religious trend. And, oddly enough, years later, Gale's father also left the church.
In his home state capital, Atlanta, Gale graduated from Lovett and then moved to Washington to attend university where he received a football scholarship. However, there were successes not only in sports, but also in studies (albeit short-lived). Having received, no less, a degree in the humanities (Roman literature), Harold left school after a year of study, as he had an argument with a football coach. This situation allowed Gale to move to San Francisco, where he became interested in photography and became a student at the local School of Art. While living in San Francisco, Gale worked wherever he needed to - even, for a time, as a motorcycle mechanic in a Ducati showroom.
Susan Landau, being a friend of Harold and daughter of Martin Landau (a rather famous American actor), invited her friend to try her luck in acting. In 1997, on the advice of Susan, he moved to Los Angeles, where he continuously studied acting for 3 years.
Debut in the profession
When Gale turned 28, the local theater studio A NoiseWithin invited the aspiring actor to be part of their educational program. So his long-awaited (but, in a sense, late) debut took place in the play "Me and My Friends", where Harold played a character named Bunny.
In 2000, Gale Harold was expected to make his film debut. His first work was the little-known film 36K. Later, but in the same year, he was waiting for one of the main roles in the famous sensational TV series "Close Friends" (many know this project by the original name "QueerasFolk"), where he played the homosexual Brian Keene. This role became the starting point of the actor in his career (although it was not the first acting experience). After 5 years, the series came to its logical conclusion, being at the peak of its popularity in the United States.
In 2003, Harold starred in Wake, which was produced by his longtime friend Susan and directed by her husband.
After the end of the popular series, Gail actively starred in both films and television series. However, these were often supporting roles. Perhaps one of the memorable characters is the role of Jackson Bradok in the Desperate Housewives series. The actor is hardly remembered by the audience for something great. Unless the most devoted fans will remember each of his roles.
The actor has over 25 roles in films and a dozen in television projects of various sizes.
Personal life
Gail is a big fan of Italian motorcycles, especially brands like MotoGuzzi and Ducati.
In the fall of 2008, Harold got into an accident, where he was seriously injured - for some time he was in critical condition, as he received a serious concussion.
He actively supports the LGBT community, although he himself is not a representative of it. The actor does not like to talk about his personal life. After all the same series “Close friends, many suspected Harold of being gay. However, the actor immediately denied these speculations. At the same time, how the actor lives (and most importantly, with whom) - we are unlikely to know.
