Biography

On April 25, 1952, the future hockey master Vladislav Aleksandrovich Tretyak was born in the small village of Orudevo in the Moscow region. From early childhood he was fond of sports, but hockey was not the main and not the only sport in which Tretyak tried himself in childhood.

Vladislav's family was athletic: his father served in aviation and therefore constantly maintained his physical shape, his mother worked as a physical education teacher, and his older brother was engaged in water sports. Following his example, the future legendary goalkeeper of the USSR also began to go to the Dynamo pool. On weekends, the family went to the skating rink, and little Vladislav liked it very much. Perhaps it was this that played a decisive role in the choice that changed his whole life.

Career

At the age of 11, my mother brought Tretyak to the CSKA hockey school, which was one of the best in the Soviet Union. During the screening, the coaches and leaders of the club paid special attention to the ability to move in reverse, this largely influenced the selection of candidates. By the way, Vladislav already had a good command of this technique and was accepted into the team. At first, Tretyak played as a striker and a huge role in the choice of the future goalkeeper was played by a funny fact: the club lacked field uniforms, this greatly embarrassed Vladislav, and then he decided to offer himself as a goalkeeper, but on condition that he was given a real hockey uniform.

The condition was met, and the legendary goalkeeper took his place in the frame. Father categorically did not like the choice of mother and son, he compared athletes with hockey sticks to janitors, but when the boy brought his first earnings, the father resigned himself and retreated.

In the middle of 1967, Anatoly Tarasov, head coach of CSKA's main team, drew attention to the promising and talented goalkeeper. He transferred the youngster to the base, and he began to study with professionals. The guy's joy knew no bounds, it was a great honor for him to train with the legendary players of that time. The debut at the goal of the team took place only the following year, in the capital derby against Spartak. Vladislav Tretyak spent his entire playing career in one club, and this is a long period of his life - 16 seasons, in which he played 482 times to defend the team's goal.

Vladislav Tretyak began playing for the Soviet national team almost immediately with the beginning of his professional career in 1969. The debut match took place as part of the Pravda edition tournament, the rivals of the Soviet team were then the Finnish team. Since then, he increasingly began to appear in the squad, until he finally established himself as the main goalkeeper in it.

We can talk endlessly about the achievements and trophies of the Tretyak - the USSR national team was the strongest team in the Old World, the real competition could only be the Canadian team, but

she did not take part in the world championships, and could only meet with the national team of the Union at the Olympic Games. During his career, Tretyak took part in the Olympics 4 times and became the champion three times, only once, in 1980, losing the championship to the US national team. Also, the famous goalkeeper has 10 gold medals at the World Championship and 9 European Championships.

After a phenomenal playing career, Tretyak had a short coaching period. He coached goalkeepers at the NHL Chicago Blackhawks. Thanks to the work of Vladislav Aleksandrovich, the main goalkeeper of the club, according to the results of the year, was awarded the prestigious Vezina Trophy goalkeeper trophy.

Since 2000, he has been a member of the President's Sports Council. And already in 2003, Vladislav Tretyak began to actively engage in politics. Since 2006, he is the head of the Ice Hockey Federation. Since 2011, after successful elections to the State Duma, he has become a member of United Russia, where he still “works for the good of the people”.
