Alan started to study music early. Already at the age of three, he mastered the drumming. Later he began to learn to play the guitar, clarinet, saxophone, bassoon and for some time performed in the school brass band.

As a child, Alan did not think about making music his profession. He was fond of baseball and wanted to pursue a sports career. But by the end of school he realized that music was his real vocation, he would not do anything else.

Zemeckis at that time was in search of a composer for his new film "Romance with a Stone". He really liked the rhythmic works of Silvestri. Soon, Alan was awarded a contract to work on the project.

From that moment on, Silvestri's career as a composer, writing music for films, began to skyrocket.

Today he is one of the leading musicians with whom many famous directors work.

Personal life

Silvestri lives on his own ranch with his wife and three children. The family has a huge vineyard and Alan plans to start producing his own wine.

Alan's wife's name is Sandra. She is a former model who quit her job immediately after marriage. They got married in 1978. Three children were born in the marriage: Alexandra, Joy and James.
