Alan Anthony Silvestri is an American composer. Author of music for famous films and TV series: "Romance with a Stone", "Back to the Future", "Who Framed Roger Rabbit", "Rogue", "Van Helsing", "Avengers: Endgame". Winner of the "Grammy" award, nominee for awards: "Oscar", "Golden Globe" and "Saturn".
Alan started to study music early. Already at the age of three, he mastered the drumming. Later he began to learn to play the guitar, clarinet, saxophone, bassoon and for some time performed in the school brass band.
As a child, Alan did not think about making music his profession. He was fond of baseball and wanted to pursue a sports career. But by the end of school he realized that music was his real vocation, he would not do anything else.
To date, Alan has taken part in the creation of music for one hundred and twenty films and television projects. He is one of the most successful and famous composers, whose career is inextricably linked with cinema.

For the music for the films Predator, Back to the Future 3 and Van Helsing, Silvestri received the Saturn Prize. For the same award, he was nominated for music for projects: "The First Avenger", "The Polar Express", "Contact", "Forrest Gump", "Death Becomes Her", "The Abyss", "Who Framed Roger Rabbit", "Back to the future".
For the Oscar, Sylvestri was nominated for the soundtrack to Forrest Gump and The Polar Express.
Alan was nominated for the Golden Globe Award for the musical accompaniment to the song from the movie The Polar Express and for the soundtrack to the film Forrest Gump.
Sylvestri received a Grammy Award for the best song to the movie The Polar Express. He also became a Grammy nominee for the soundtracks for the films Who Framed Roger Rabbit, Back to the Future.

The future composer was born in the spring of 1950 in the United States.
Alan became interested in music in early childhood, having learned to play the drums. During his school years, he began performing in a brass band, and later in a musical group created with friends. In high school, Alan no longer doubted that his future life would be connected exclusively with music.
After completing his primary education, Alan continued his studies at Berklee College of Music. Then he went to Las Vegas, where he performed in a group with Wayne Cochran.
Alan decided to continue his musical career in Hollywood. At first, he could not find a suitable job. All of his written works were rejected by directors and producers. Alan has been composing music for low-budget films for several years. Then he went to television, where he began to write musical compositions for serials.
In the early 1980s, he met Robert Zemeckis. It was this meeting that became a turning point in the fate and career of Alan. Zemeckis at that time was in search of a composer for his new film "Romance with a Stone". He really liked the rhythmic works of Silvestri. Soon, Alan was awarded a contract to work on the project.
From that moment on, Silvestri's career as a composer, writing music for films, began to skyrocket.
Today he is one of the leading musicians with whom many famous directors work.
Personal life
Silvestri lives on his own ranch with his wife and three children. The family has a huge vineyard and Alan plans to start producing his own wine.
Alan's wife's name is Sandra. She is a former model who quit her job immediately after marriage. They got married in 1978. Three children were born in the marriage: Alexandra, Joy and James.
