The acting profession requires from a person not only a photogenic appearance, but also good physical data. Rehearsals in the theater and on the set take a lot of energy. As a child, Mikhail Derzhavin watched the rehearsals of performances from behind the curtains.
Starting conditions
To raise a child as a worthy person, he needs to set positive examples from an early age. Mikhail Mikhailovich Derzhavin was born on June 15, 1936 in an acting family. Parents lived in Moscow, near the famous Vakhtangov Drama Theater. My father served in the troupe of this theater. The mother was engaged in housekeeping and raising children. Mikhail and his two sisters were growing up in the house. The boy grew up and developed from an early age in a creative atmosphere. His father often took him with him to the theater for rehearsals.
When the war broke out, the Derzhavin family, together with the theatrical collective, were evacuated to the Siberian city of Omsk. Here they had to spend four harsh years. Next to the building where the actors were quartered was a hospital for wounded soldiers. Mikhail learned by heart the monologue of Field Marshal Kutuzov from the performance of the same name. This role was played by the father. I learned and read it within the walls of the hospital. The performances of the six-year-old artist were always accompanied by thunderous applause, turning into ovations and sweet gifts. The soldiers presented the boy with sugar and breadcrumbs.
In the creative field
Returning to his native places after the victory, Mikhail went to school. At the same time, he attended the art craft studio at the Palace of Pioneers, where he mastered the technique of drawing. The head of the family really wanted his son to become artists. But the young man had his own plans. After leaving school in 1954, Derzhavin decided to get a specialized education at the Shchukin Theater School. The school was located in the next doorway of the house where the Derzhavins lived. After completing his studies, the certified actor entered the service at the Lenin Komsomol Theater.
Derzhavin's theatrical career was developing quite successfully. Already in the first year, he played the main role of Bubus's dudes in the play "A Dangerous Age". In 965, Mikhail moved to the Academic Theater of Satire, where he became close friends with Alexander Shirvindt and Andrei Mironov. The friendship between the actors grew over time into a creative union. All-Union fame brought the trinity of friends the film "Three in a boat, not counting a dog." For more than thirty years Derzhavin played the role of a host in the television show "Zucchini 13 Chairs".
Recognition and privacy
For his great services in the field of Soviet theatrical art, Mikhail Derzhavin was awarded the honorary title "People's Artist of the RSFSR". The actor was awarded the Order of Friendship and two Orders of Merit for the Fatherland.
In the actor's personal life, not everything went smoothly. He was married three times. In his first marriage, Mikhail married Ekaterina Raikina, with whom he studied at the theater school. They divorced two years later. The second marriage with Nina Budyonnaya, the daughter of the famous marshal, lasted sixteen years. They had a daughter, but this did not save the family from disintegration. The singer Roxana Babayan became the third wife of Mikhail Derzhavin. With her, he lived under the same roof for the rest of his life. The actor died in January 2018 from cardiac arrest.
