Biography

Wim Delvoye is from Belgium. He was born in the city of Verwick in January 1965. As a child, the boy went not only to a comprehensive school, but also to the local Academy of Arts. After graduating from these two institutions, he entered the Royal Academy of Arts. This was in 1983. And in 1986, Delvoye shows off his painted carpets. The founder of the museum and curator, Jan Hut, helped him organize this exhibition.

Creation

Then the artist makes a bronze sculpture. It's called The Kiss. But this work sparked a number of protests. After all, the sculptor decided to show how two roe deer mate, but he captured the animals in unusual positions. Therefore, many suspected that, under the guise of roe deer, Delvoye depicted people making love.

Other projects of this famous and infamous artist are also very dubious.

One of his works is called "Cloaca".

Wim Delvoye created the machine to resemble the digestive system of humans. When food is put into it, after going through all the stages, the food turns into excrement.

The Belgian Museum of Modern Art exhibited this work. Those who wish can watch how delicious dishes are put into this car three times a day, which are prepared in one of the best Belgian restaurants. Then digestion takes place. This work is 12 meters long and includes six transparent flasks. Each of them reproduces some kind of organ: stomach, gastrointestinal tract, and so on.

These flasks are connected to each other by means of hoses, and a computer helps to control them.

Those who wish can buy the received excrement in a packaged form.

But this is not the only contribution of the neo-artist to the development of a very dubious art movement. He also created the next project.

Art farm

Delvoye Wim in 1997 figured out how to use animals for their own purposes. He tattooed four pigs and displayed animals in an Antwerp park. But the four-legged defenders protested. Then this artist created a farm in the vicinity of Beijing, where he raises and displays his pigs.

Heavy artillery

Wim prefers not to talk about his personal life, about whether he is a husband, does he have a wife? But he has such projects in unlimited quantities.

So, the artist periodically creates openwork heavy equipment with neo-gothic drawings. For one job, he used an excavator, and made a concrete mixer from mahogany.

Delvoye still has many works that are incomprehensible to a wide audience. These are windows made from X-rays, which reflect bed scenes; and ironing boards, shovels, on which the artist applied heraldic motifs. He has a dozen cesspool alone. This is "super" and "turbo", and under various numbers.

No wonder some of the works of the Belgian artist provoke protests. But he made a career out of them and amassed good capital.
