Morgan Sipre is an award-winning French figure skater. But recently, his name has been increasingly flickering in connection with the scandal around sexual harassment.
Biography
Morgan Sipre was born in 1991 in the city of Melun. He studied at the same time in a regular general education and in a sports school, was engaged in figure skating. The guy received his secondary and sports education.
The young man showed himself well in single figure skating. When he was 19 years old, Sipre Morgan competed at the World Junior Championships. Then the couple Vanessa James and Yannick Boehner ceased to exist. The coach decided to merge Morgan Sipre with Vanessa, who was temporarily out of work. So in the fall of 2010 their pair was created.
As Vanessa later recalled, Morgan was very nervous during their first joint workout, especially when he threw her, performing such a combination. This is how the first joint work of young people took place.
Pair skating career
A year later, Morgan and Vanessa are already participating in an international competition in Bratislava. Here they took 5th place. And at home at the French National Championship, the guys were able to win.
The future famous athletes received their first international award in the 2012 and 2013 competitions, which were held in Germany. And at the end of 2012 they become champions of France.
For the 2013-2014 Olympic season, Morgan Sipre, together with his partner, carefully prepared. But the partner failed. He injured his wrist, which led to surgery on his arm.
At the 2014 Olympics, Sipre and James finished 7th with a blotted short program.
Last years
In the 2014-2015 season, Sipre Morgan and Vanessa James finished fourth at the international competition in Oberstdorf. But at home they managed to win the French Championship. So for this season, a couple of skaters become three-time champions of France.
In the following season 2015-2017, Morgan and James finished third in an international competition held in Germany. Then in Nagano they were only sixth. And in Boston at the World Championships they entered the top ten.
The next season was also quite successful for the athletes. The Olympic Games were held in 2018 in South Korea. Here the best result of these greenhouses was the fifth place in the individual tournament.
In 2019, they were able to become European champions. In this way, Vanessa James and Morgan Sipre contributed to the establishment of a new achievement. Indeed, for 87 years, the French greenhouses could not win this title.
The outbreak of scandal
Not so long ago, the tabloids were full of headlines that Morgan Sipre was accused of sexual harassment. His victim was a thirteen-year-old figure skater.
The incident was that Morgan allegedly sent her a photo of his genitals. But the story is pretty dark. Rumor has it that one of the trainers persuaded the girl and her friend to ask Morgan to send such an obscene photo. For this, the coach promised the girls pizza.
In response to numerous questions about this, Morgan said that he had absolutely nothing to answer this accusation. The skater's coaches in one print publication expressed their outrage and shock at the accusations made and clarified that they adhere to high standards of professionalism and safety, and are eagerly awaiting an explanation of this strange situation.
