Selim Alakhyarov is a Russian singer. The artist glorified his small homeland Dagestan on the classical stage. Recently, the soloist became the winner of the popular TV show "The Voice".

Choice of profession
The future singer was born on December 23 in Grozny. My father worked as a surgeon, my mother taught vocals. Soon the family with Selim and his brother moved to Derbent, from there to Makhachkala. For a long time, the boy went in for sports. He liked the fight.
Selim demonstrated considerable achievements in hand-to-hand combat. The coaches predicted a great future for the student. The athlete himself thought about a professional career. Alakhyarov was also fascinated by his father's profession. Since childhood, the boy read textbooks on surgery. He perfectly knew anatomy and by the end of school was able to make diagnoses quite well. But the boy did not consider medical education as an option for future activity. At the same time, from an early age, the child was engaged in singing.
He took part in all music competitions in Dagestan. Mom revealed perfect hearing in her son. She also noted the purity of intonation. During his studies, a talented student was offered training at the Luciano Pavarotti school in Italy. However, due to the need to change his citizenship, the boy refused.
In 1999, the famous Dagestan composer Murad Kazhlaev helped him with admission to the Sveshnikov Academy of Choral Art. However, soon his son was taken home by his parents because of the financial problems that arose.
Singing activity
In Makhachkala, Selim was educated at the Gottfried Hasanov Music College. Then the graduate went to the capital again. This time he became a student at the prestigious Gnessin School.
At the faculty of academic vocal Alakhyarov was the first Dagestani student. Natural talent struck the commission during the entrance exams. Of the entire stream, Dmitry Vdovin, one of the leaders and co-founders of the International School of Vocal Skills, accepted the only student for training. The soloist was trained by Sergei Moskalkov Alexander Vedernikov.
During his studies, the young man managed to work as a model for Vyacheslav Zaitsev in his famous Fashion House. The aspiring artist earned money for training and living in the capital. Accustomed to a professional approach to everything, Selim graduated from the school of models.
The vocalist has a rare lyric and dramatic baritone. The young soloist has repeatedly won the competitions "Maryana", "Talents of the XXI century", "Perepelochka", won prizes at international vocal competitions. In Selim's repertoire, works of postmodernism coexist with Italian arias from the Baroque period.
Neoclassicism is closest to Alakhyarov. The soloist believes that such a direction is not yet sufficiently developed in Russia. Since there is no corresponding school, the vocalist studied the works of Alessandro Safin, Andrea Bocelli. Even in performing pop songs, the singer adheres to an academic manner.

At the end of September 2016, the young soloist at the X International Vocal Festival "Golden Voice of Russia" became the winner and winner of the Grand Prix. The participants were one hundred vocalists. The jury is headed by world famous opera diva Lyubov Kazarnovskaya. She invited the winner to a joint performance in the Duet with a Star program at the end of the competition and offered an internship.
Selim was a participant in the Voice show. When passing the casting, the artist was very nervous. He performed the song "Ferris wheel" by Magomayev at the blind auditions. Alexander Gradsky became the singer's mentor. Alakhyarov went through all the stages and became the winner of the TV competition. The results were announced on December 29, 2017.
Alexander Borisovich invited the winner to work in his theatrical collective "Gradsky Hall". Selim's solo concert took place on March 8, 2019.
